Date a man from United States. Well I've tried short profiles and long profiles.I really don't have a clue what is right with one of these.
I am a divorced parent of 2 grown children.I work here in silicon valley managing engineers these days. For fun I like outdoor activities like cycling or target shooting, live music and theater.
Want to know more about someone? Look at their library, dvd or cd collection, So here goes:
Books, There are still some I have not colored in. Books of interest to me range in different categories. The last piece of fiction I read was Liberty by Garrison Keillor part of his Lake Wobegon series. I am fan of A Prairie Home Companion and listen to it most weeks. I like both the music they play and the repeating characters especially Guy Noir and The Lives of the Cowboys. Other fiction I enjoy are thrillers like Tom Clancy books. I have read the whole series. These are great for long plane rides.
Want to know more? Drop me a note. I am looking for someone that is local to the area of Menlo Park to San Jose range..
Meet someone special from United States. So here it goes... even if this doesn't work out at least I can say I tried. I'm figuring that if you're here on match.com you're looking for someone as well. So already we have something in common. And I promise to resist the trap of telling you what I think you want to hear. Honesty only....
I'm a hardworking, intellegent, loyal, honest, caring man who has been self-employed for the last 28 years. Suddenly I find myself with three grown children in their 20's that live on their own and a business that basically runs itself and needs just a little bit of my daily attention. Being self-employed all these years has really helped me appreciate when others work at something they love and spend a lot of time doing it. I have finally found the balance between work and normal life and I'm very content with it. It's also given me the time to work at my newest hobby: stock market investing. It's been a great learning experience and this economy, and our politicians, have caused some crazy ups and downs. But I've learned a lot about how to earn money in spite of it all and I'm having fun doing it. I know what you're thinking: If he's so great why is he divorced??? I'm sure we're all asking those questions as we read these profiles...let's move on.
What I'm hoping to find is a woman who enjoys her life. She's comfortable in her own skin. She doesn't major in drama on a daily basis. She's a good mom to her kids and a great friend to her friends. Her coworkers love being around her. She loves that I make her coffee each morning and pours her wine in the evening. She looks forward to both each day we're together. She has a quick wit, a great sense of humor and appreciates that I try to make her laugh everyday. She takes comfort that I'd never do anything to hurt her feelings. She likes to socialize with other couples and friends but likes staying in as much as she likes going out.
I work out daily to keep myself in shape and stay healthy. Most people think I look better in person than I do in pictures. I think it's my sense of humor that makes them say that. I love to make people laugh. Once you get to know me you'll forget all about what you don't quite see in me now. And when you're treated the way you need/deserve to be, you'll wonder where I've been all this time.
Favorite television: Modern Family (Only show that makes me laugh out loud), Big Bang theory, Hawaii Five-0(love the new show), Burn Notice, Suits. Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, House of Lies.
Favorite Actors: Pacino (Godfather, Devils Advocate, etc), Deniro (Raging Bull, Sleepers, Bronx Tale, etc.) Crowe (Master and Commander, Cinderella Man, etc.) Eastwood (Grand Torino, Million Dollar Baby and anything Harry Cahalan). And I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I believe Daniel Craig is the best James Bond ever. That's right I said it!!!!
Favorite Music: Absolutely anything by the Boss! Watching his music evolve over the last 30 years has been one of lifes greatest pleasures. After that my tastes in music run wild and I'm pretty open to everything from the Bee Gees to Bob Seeger, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Earth, Wind Fire, Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters. There just isn't much I don't like if the words and music strike me. Oh yea, most rap and almost all country. I just don't get it.
How's your browsing going? Probably the same as mine. Hopefully you're out there and we're about to connect.
By the way...when it comes to distance I don't think there are too many miles between me and the right woman in my life. Granted, if you live out of state I know I'm not interested in a long distance relationship. But if you're an hour or less away I will always find the time to make my way to you.
Enough about me...how about you? Have I at least peeked your interest a little? I sure hope so
Date single man from United States. I have two espresso cups, but have yet to use them both together.
I've spent so much time concentrating on the big picture; I've missed out on many of the simple pleasures life has to offer. And while I’m fairly content with what I have, I can relate to the song “Handle With Care".
Like everyone else, I am looking for that special connection. Someone who is sincere and honest and who can laugh at herself (Just I do at myself).
Looking for that someone who Tom Jones was singing about in She’s a Lady. They would also enjoy Jazz (but not only), sushi in North Beach and naturally chocolate.
Im rather amiable, don’t take myself too seriously and tend to take most minor downturns in stride. I’m an honest, sincere person who believes in loyalty especially in matters of friendship. I’m not set in my ways and realize flexibility is an important quality in any relationship. When it comes to romance, I enjoy letting my imagination take off.
Meet people from United States. I am an artist, novelist, poet, and photographer. The very best of my writing comes from people or events that move my soul. The best of my visual art comes from color, light, and composition that stimulate me, that please my eye and touch me. Although I paint varied subject matter, in one genre I am considered one of the best in the world. My paintings have been juror selections in international shows. I have had photographs published world-wide.
I dress with an artist’s eye. I look great in a suit, although I rarely wear one now-a-days. I actually enjoy putting on a tie to go out to a nice restaurant. On the other hand, my preferred mode of dress is T-shirt, shorts, and sandals (sub jeans and running shoes in winter).
I’m an ex-competitive athlete, and I still train daily to keep fit, although the current “day job” interferes with that a lot during the work week. My dog requires a great deal of mental stimulus and exercise, so I get exercise with her beyond other workouts I do. I love animals and the outdoors. Hiking in the mountains and open spaces, exploring the coast, visiting different wine country appellations all provide me with material for my art was well as helping to relieve some of the stress of working in the Silicon Valley. I’ve ridden my bicycles all over the Bay Area (mountain and road) and have covered 100,000 miles in the last 15 years.
I like visiting art museums and galleries, and have visited top museums and exhibits in the U.S. and Europe. I not only like to travel, but have worked internationally in Asia, Canada, and Europe. I have lived on the far ends as well as the middle of this country—on a cattle ranch in the middle of the Great Plains, the seacoast of New England, on a plantation in Hawai’i. I’ve worked in Boston, Chicago, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle . . . while not necessarily living in those places. One of the best parts of working in such varied locales is the opportunity to sample many different types of regional and ethnic cuisines. I not only love great food, I like cooking it too . . . and I am pretty good at preparing some ethnic dishes. I also collect wine (when I can afford to) that I like pairing with the food I cook.
My car radio is tuned to KFOG, but if I hear something I don’t like, I hit the CD button. The CD player is likely to have Miles, Bird, Cannonball, Dizzy, Ella or Lady Day in it, along with a myriad of other jazz players and singers, from Blakey to Sinatra to Zawinul. I’m a really big fan of the blues as well, from the electric blues of the Allman Brothers to the original greats like Robert Johnson, Son House, Johnny Shines, and Charlie Patton. None of that has affected my love of classical music.
You like, are interested in, or have a very open mind about all of the above. In the interest of full disclosure, I sport what you might call a "Marine Corps buzz"--just short of a shaved head. If your life depends on spending the rest of it with a man sporting a head full of flowing hair, look elsewhere.
Love of animals is a must—a real deal breaker. Big plus if you like dogs, horses, and cats, not necessarily in that order but definitely non-exclusive of any. I like all kinds of animals; if you do not like them, then we are not of one mind. In regard to deal-breakers, I should also note that I am a published poet, novelist, and an ex-editor. A certain finesse in word-smithing--spelling, grammar, and usage, really impresses me. A picture with the caption "my (blank) and I"? Forget it. Ditto pluralization with apostrophe "s".
There is nothing more erotic than intelligence and wit. An attractive smile, good grooming, and a concern for personal well-being are all great “nice-to-haves” as well. I have been in relationships with some very beautiful women . . . and a few who were not “head-turners.” Brains trump beauty. That said, an open mind and a love of critical thinking are paramount.

Meet men and women from United States. I'm just an honest, average, down to earth, hardworking blue collar kind of guy. I'm pretty much the officer and a gentleman type. When it comes to dating I must say that I am a little on the shy side. I guess I'm not what you call a player and never will be. I'm not into serial dating and one woman is all that I need or would want. I work long hours and work at night, to some that might be a deal breaker. Just doing what I gota do to put my daughter thru college. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away as I will answer them honestly. I would like to find someone around my age that is nice looking and has a good personality without drama. I don't think I'm asking for too much. Thanks for stopping by. Good Luck and I hope you find what you are looking for. Will it be me?
Russain Mail order Brides need not apply! also, If you have tatoos of the prison variety, you need not apply as well!!!!!

Date men and women from Santa Clara, United States. This is the first description I've ever written. Never been on one of these websites but promised some friends I'd try... I'm more into people then the internet...
I am honest, compassionate, and humble. I consider myself easy going and respectful. I love people, parties, and taking care of business. I also cherish my quite time! I enjoy wine making and tasting. I learned to make wine in the 80's in Santa Cruz Mountains as a hobby. I love good food! All different types...Indian, Mexican, Thai, Cambodian, Japanese, etc. Sushi is one of my favorites! I have traveled for many years for work and would love to do more for pleasure! I enjoy swimming with the fish in Hawaii and smoking fish (salmon) here at home. It's one of my passions although, I am allergic to salmon. So, I do not get to indulge! I love to cook for people and learned to perfect my salmon over 20yrs ago. When I quit traveling for work I got a little Yorkie. She's my buddy! We have volunteered together with Furry Friends to help lick loneliness. I also have been a home-stay parent for students from Japan. I found it to be very rewarding and really enjoyed it!
I would love to find a companion to share a movie, a walk on the beach, wine tasting, etc. I am open to just a friendship but would ultimately like to find a man to share my golden years with!
Meet someone special from Santa Clara, United States. My closeset friends would describe me as fun, energetic, inquisitive, outgoing, gregarious, social, caring, supportive and loyal.
I am grateful for good health, great friends and family. I love to travel and explore new places and learn about other cultures and the people. My favorite places to travel so far have been to East and West Africa, Thailand and Vietnam. Any where in North America! The diversity in the US is amazing. Spending time with friends always brightens my day.
Date a soulmate from California, United States. "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams"
First of all I believe that even at this stage of the game, falling in love and being happily connected with someone is possible regardless of how bad the past may have been for you or me.... I try to live my life with optimism, humility and kindness, and yes I am a hopeless romantic. I am curious about the world – intelligence is really only the desire to continue learning, isn’t it? I am conservative in my approach to building a relationship – I like to take things slow and build a strong foundation of trust and friendship, but if the chemistry is there I won't hesitate to take a chance.
My ideal mate understands that neither he nor I need to be perfect – we just have to be perfect for one another. He is funny and able to enjoy any situation. He is secure and expressive, and has a confidence that makes others feel comfortable. He is family-oriented, sensible yet with an edge of adventure. And he sees life as opportunity!
