I like the big life: working in startups, giving back , long weekend vacations and being outdoors. I had a great time white water rafting in Utah this summer.
I'm an economist by training (Ph. D -- I guess that makes me an official nerd!) and am fascinated by world events and politics. Just glad we're not in 2008 , as economists suddenly became toxic at parties! (right after investment bankers...)
My two kids (18 and 21) are happy, engaged in life and thriving. I am proud of their smiles, empathetic hearts and curiosity. We hang together well, and take some fun vacations each year. I look forward to adding a great guy to our group!
My daughter got me into Bikram Yoga (the hot kind) and now I'm a regular. I love having all these muscles!
It's a pretty active life, but also centered. One of the wonderful things in my life in the past few years has been a new and fuller way of engaging with people -- as if I have removed some layers. I enjoy this lighter feeling.

Let me provide an example. There is a couple I've known and have admired for many years. This couple I write of are in their 80's, 2nd marriage for each. I have been fortunate to observe them interact, of course without any awareness on their part that they have caught my attention. They constantly hold hands, laugh together and whisper secrets to each other. He looks at her adoringly when she is not aware and she does the same. I once had the opportunity to ask him what the secret was...he told me that he loves her more each day, adores her, that they have never argued and that she is his best-friend.
Is this type of relationship rare? Is it still possible that I might someday meet my best-friend? I can only hope.
I seek someone like me...someone who is perfectly imperfect, someone who wants a partner, a friend, a confidante, a passionate lover to connect with, a kindred spirit. Me? I am at times a shy woman, who can hold my own and joke with the best of them. I am verbal, articulate, curious, detail oriented - to a fault I'm sorry to say, health focused, compassionate, positive in spirit, energetically positive and extremely passionate. I believe that one must treat people the way you wish to be treated. I refuse to judge people, but can and do take/receive constructive criticism graciously. I know how to say "thank you." I love being outside, doing or trying just about anything...outside, entertaining and hosting. I love to dance, solo or with a partner. I feel really frustrated by people who view my profile and photos, but do not attach photos to their profiles...very unfair I'd say. I get winking, but find this actually disappointing. I'm a talker and believe that there is no substitution for verbal communication, or at the very least an email. I have done my best to stay healthy and youthful...activity is the key...swimming, hiking, cycling, long and I mean long beach walks. I used to run, competed in track, but do not find this fun anymore. Enough shared, wouldn't you say?
