My passions are my art and my new career. I paint in oils, sculpt and photography. I've loved much and often; have had older lovers when I was younger and younger lovers as I grew older; I've learned much from all.
If you really want to know what I'm like read 2 books: Cowboy Ethics and Cowboy Values; they're current and are needed in times like this. I'm not a cowboy but you don't have to be to appreciate their valuable lessons. I live by them as best as I'm able.
I'd like someone like me but different. Someone with spirit who hasn't allowed their soul to lay down waiting for death. Also with all the cockamamy things most of us put into our introductions, and don't be afraid to reach out, if there is rejection who cares this is all so anonymous (or as I used to say...anymouse) anyway.

And ladies just because someone looks "different" does not mean they speak with an accent or their social skills are lacking or they lack a sense of humor or they are sooo different than you. My caucasian friends told me to get on this site because I'm as caucasian as they are as people would realize once "they" got to know me, afterall my parents raised us to assimilate into this society so we would be more accepted. My voice is considered deep and raspy with words of honesty.

As I've said in an email sent to one who I thought might be opened minded and did not respond after I had sent it "at least be honest enough to respond and say you'd rather dive into the shallow end of the dating pool!" perhaps I was a "bit caustic", but be courteous and answer when one is courageous enough to reach out.
I paint mostly seascapes, I write poetry, I've overhauled the engine and installed the transmission in my '66 chevelle wagon, I take brisk morning walks and ride my bicycle, I rode english motorcycles in the late '60s and early '70s, I plan on buying a Harley come fall/winter (the price goes down then) because I've seen a lot of and I want to see the rest of the good ole USA, the greatest country in the world. Hope I haven't bored you.

I have been campaigning my Cal 25 (a 25' sail boat), "Quiet Woman" (I don't always like women to be quiet) in the Local Fleet V and club races for the last 3 years. I am now ready to take a break from racing to enjoy other activities. I have been used to traveling more than the racing would allow.
I am way over educated, have lived and was educated (according to the diplomas) abroad as well as in a number of cities and institutions stateside. I enjoy many sophisticated endeavors as well as the simple things in life (simple things does not include the company simple people unless they are quite kind and caring as well ("avoid the company of boring people unless you are in need of sleep")). Oh, and I might as well get this out there, I am a proud member of the Trojan Family (USC). I do, however recognize that there are other worthwhile educational institutions on earth, unlike some of my brothers and sisters. I enjoy music (music does not include pop country-western or rap), theater, film (particularly independent film), and literature, as well as traveling. Some music may, from time to time, inspire me to dance, usually, not alone. I also enjoy dining, wine, spirits and I also cook.
I spent the last 20 or so years of professional life as "a student of the built environment" (real estate in the broadest sense). Fortunately, the student was able to derive enough income from the studies to live comfortably if not luxuriously and retire early to enjoy the freedom associated therewith.
I have traveled most of Europe and some of the more common tourist destinations on this side of the Atlantic. Most of the traveling was done solo. I've been fortunate to meet people along the way to spend time with to enjoy the traveling. I find the experience of "embracing the culture" when in foreign lands, exhilarating. Culture includes the food and drink, art, customs and the rhythms of life.
I have a small bungalow on the poor side of Naples (the North side of 2nd Street)which is a life project in progress, but is none the less, also comfortable, at least for me.
I have one grownup daughter and three grandkids who's company I am happy to enjoy as often as possible. She lives an hour and one half away.
