. I am passionate about learning -- my curiosity is hard to satisfy. I especially enjoy learning about history, and mostly read non-fiction books about history -- although sometimes I like to mix it up and read fiction (usually historical fiction! LOL).
I also enjoy traveling -- I mean, I REALLY enjoy traveling! Because I am so curious, I love exploring new places -- whether indoors at a museum, historical building, etc., or outdoors being amazed by architecture, an ancient ruin, or just enjoying the beauty of our world. I can enjoy an evening out -- formal or casual -- just as much as an evening in, watching a movie.
I am not a needy person. I am caring and thoughtful. I'm a great listener, and a good conversationalist. I am a very optimistic person, and try to see the brighter side of most situations. (I may not always succeed, but I try!!) I care about our world and our country, but can sometimes be frustrated by the "status quo" that many people accept.
I don't think I'm typical -- I know a lot of women who thrive on gossip and drama, and who talk for the sake of talking. That's not me. Life is just way too short to waste on stuff like that.
My kids mean the world to me, and parenting is my most important job. However, they're both getting older now (17 and 21!), and I find I have time to myself. And, I'd like to spend that time with someone who inspires me, interests me, and can make me laugh or at least share in some laughter.
