I try to participate in some kind of athletic event each year I am partial to triathlons so I guess you could say that I like to swim, bike and run. I signed up for my 1st Ironman last year and managed to finish it in one piece. I figured since I'm now tecnically "in my 40's" I could have a mid life crisis (i.e., buy a red sports car and attempt to date men half my age) or challenge myself to participate in physical endeavors. I choose the latter. I like to set goals, whether personal or professional, as it keeps me motivated. I'm pretty much a work in progress I guess you could say.
For fun, I enjoy going out on occasion but am content to stay home and have friends over for food, wine and good conversation. I particularly enjoy cooking with that someone special. Live music, sporting events, sushi and going to a hole in the wall dive bar for a game of pool every once in a while are among my list of favorites. I will try most anything once, especially if I'm double dog dared into it. Right now on my list is skydiving. Always wanted to do it but just haven't quite mustered up the mojo to do it. Just waiting for somebody to dare me....
I work with kids and I have a six year old daughter so I guess you could say I like "little people". She is my best accomplishment yet. She is into soccer, softball, taekwondo and superheroes (a little mini-me in the making). She is a constant reminder to appreciate the little things and live life as though you are experiencing everything for the first time. Parenthood is an amazing and humbling thing! Makes me realize all the sage advice I thought I was giving to parents before I had kids was just a bunch of fluff.
So lets see.... What am I looking for in a mate you ask? A man who is confident secure with himself, knows what he wants and
isn't afraid to go after it. Someone who is active, takes care of himself, witty, can laugh at himself, loves kids, fond of animals, has all his teeth (I'm a sucker for a great smile), adventurous willing to hold my hand in public. A man who still believes in chivalry would be a plus. Now, this doesn't mean he pays for everything or takes me out on extravagant dates but opening up a door or two would be nice. I want a man who already has a great, full life but is looking for that special someone to enhance it, not complete it (pardon the Jerry Maguire reference). Just looking for a guy who thinks I'm the "bees knees" and vise versa. Is that too much to ask?
I have been on Match before and I have met some great guys, just not my match yet. I don't have tons of time to go out and I'm not one for meeting people at bars etc... I haven't given up on finding a great mate so I guess that's why I'll continue to throw caution to the wind and see what blows back in my direction.
