It's very easy for me to get caught up in work and forget that life outside of the office exists. For this very reason, I decided trying something like this might be a good way to meet people around San Diego. If a relationship comes out of it, then so be it but friendships work too. I'm very easy going & I can get along with almost anyone. I'm down to earth and like to have fun, whether it's staying home or going out, I'll be content either way. I was born & raised just outside of Portland, Oregon in the country. I grew up playing year round sports, working, being involved in anything & everything that school had to offer, while maintaining perfect grades. I have never been afraid to work hard to get to where I want to be & I thank my parents each and every day for raising me under the concept that things aren't just handed to you & success requires ambition & effort. I love being outside whether it's hiking, skiing, running, or being at the beach. To be honest, if given the option, I would take a summer day in Oregon on the river with friends or camping over being on a beach some where tropical.
If I had to describe my ideal guy it would be someone who isn't afraid to be themselves. Someone who isn't afraid to voice their opinion but willing to compromise & be open minded. A confident guy has always been my weakness, but even more so the guy that surprises you after a few dates. Good communication skills & the ability to be sincere, genuine & humble are key. I like a guy that is independent, easy going, positive, ambitious & up for whatever, but also isn't afraid to take charge. Although it's hard to find one in the same at times, ideally I'd like a guy that can be a man's man but sensitive & caring at the same time.
My biggest goals in life are to live in the moment, laugh as often as possible, & love everything I do.

I have been in San Diego for 5 years now. I enjoying spending my free time outdoors in the sun. I love sports... basically all sports. One important thing you should know about me is that laughing is a large part of my life. Being able to laugh at yourself and make light of awkward situations is always a good thing, at least to me. When it comes to dating, I would say I am a bit old-fashioned. I really like to get to know the person well. I don't like jumping into something quickly and I try and stay away from drama and games. I consider myself witty and I like to joke around. I am not afraid to be a little dorky and just be myself no matter who I'm with. Meet single girl from United States. Hello there! So, I moved to the area fairly recently for graduate school. School keeps me really busy so I haven't been able to do a ton of exploring of the area yet. I'm okay with that though because I worked super hard to get here and am really happy with what I do! When I do have some free time I love to be outside in the sun--hanging out on the beach all day and surfing then having a cook out in the evening is the my ideal way to spend my time. I also like to hike, camp, and just generally play outside (softball or volleyball or something). I've been snowboarding since I was little and like to do that when the weather gets cold enough. I like going out to bars and seeing bands play--I'm mainly into the rock genre (alternative, ska, reggae, metalcore). The town I went to high school in didn't really have a lot to do, so my friends and I use to go to the movies a lot, which turned me into a pretty big movie/tv buff. As long as you like some good comedies, we'll probably get along.
I am a huge goofball and just try to make every day just a little bit more exciting however I can. I am very close to my family even though they are on the other side of the country and talk to them most days. I am looking for someone outside of school, someone who enjoys similar things as me. I generally am interested in guys with a good sense of humor and who aren't afraid of new adventures. Oh and one more thing--you definitely need to know the difference between geology and biology :)
