For now you can call me Mel. Initially, I may come off as shy, but that is because I have a really big heart, so I have to protect it. Once you gain my trust, I will be a true friend and a great person to hang out with. I like trying new things and going to new places. I am a really good listener ( a rare quality i feel) and I give thoughtful advice.
My friends would say that I am a very ambitious person and strive to always do my best. One thing that I am most proud of is that I used my drive and ambition to get into college on a full scholarship and have graduated on the honor roll. This is defiantly my biggest accomplishment so far.
I can be a real tomboy, but I can also be a very classy lady. I love getting dressed up and I occasionally splurge on a pair of pumps. But SURPRISE! I LOVE sports! I like watching Football (particularly college), Basketball, Baseball (take me out to a ball game!), and I also get get down with some hockey (I grew up ice skating so, hey). I may not know all the rules, or know the stats of every player, and I don't root for any particular team, but I have a great appreciation for sports. So if we are on the couch, at the bar, or in the stands, I am down for a good game!
Currently, I am working as a math teacher and I love my job. That being said, I am extremely passionate about education. I feel the most accomplished when I am helping students reach their educational goals. I only wish that every child in America had access to a quality education and could have the opportunity to go to college or get amazing job training. I am not sure where my career path will lead ( principal, superintendent, secretary of education), but I know I will be in this profession for quiet some time.
