Date a soulmate from California, United States. My story: A New Yorker (born and raised 30 minutes outside of the city) who lived in Manhattan for 10 years. Five years ago, I retired from the rough East Coast winters and the stresses of the city to pursue a more relaxed life in San Diego. I continue to be very connected to New York (my family, close friends and colleagues are there) and return to visit frequently. Over the past few years, work obligations have required me to travel extensively, so it's been difficult to establish a life in San Diego. After a life-changing event late last year, I curtailed the incessant work travel to pursue a more grounded life in San Diego. My work has enabled me to visit and live in some amazing places (most recently Brazil) and the more time I spent away from San Diego, the more I realized how special this place is.
What I love to do: Since my childhood, I've been an athlete and after an injury ended my team sports career, I have pursued a long list of individual sports. These days, the foundation of my activities is a daily yoga practice (primarily vinyasa) and depending upon conditions/how I feel, I'll surf, stand-up paddleboard (surf and distance), climb (indoors or out) or run some hills. For those times when I'm not outdoors or in the yoga studio, I'm usually reading, working (the critical complement to all of the fun physical playtime) or spending time with friends and family. You are more likely to find me outdoors doing something (or in the sand doing nothing) than indoors watching TV (although it's fun to deactivate ones brain for a few hours with a good movie or show).
My mini-resume: I began my career in investment banking and then transitioned to private equity, where I have been ever since.
What I'm looking for: My partner, my one and only, my #1, a committed relationship! I've had a great single life and I'm comfortable with being solo, but I know life is infinitely more fun/amazing when one goes all-in with another. I'm at a place in life where I have established myself, know who I am and know who I want to share life with. Until I find my partner, I'm ready to meet new people, enjoy the experience and see what happens!
