Although I find it odd to brag about myself, rather than go through a laundry list of positive attributes, how about let’s play a game where I list an attribute then tell you a story. After all, doesn’t actions speak louder than words? Let’s play…
Athletic - I was once a ranked tennis player during high school and could run a sub-6 minute mile. I also cried at my first swim meet when I was 7 (I mean 3…). Generous – I once in the middle of the night gave a ride home to a hysterical woman from the train station. Okay, maybe you can also add occasionally stupid to the list. Caring – Well, I spent my whole young adult life with the singular focus of striving to improve the quality of health of those around me. So hopefully that qualifies as caring? I'm also there for my friends at any time of the day. Chivalrous – I am somewhat old fashioned. I have examples in mind but it's probably best you find out on your own. Funny – My friends tell me I’m funny and my mom thinks I’m hilarious. I think I get funnier over time once I know you better. It also doesn’t hurt if you like the occasionally corny joke. Honest – I once was in a car garage and saw this bike where you lay chest down and peddle with your hands. Well of course the first thought to pop in my head was that I wanted to try it. I know, you’re thinking you would want to try it too. Well I did ... and broke a plastic piece off the side. Although I was tempted to leave, I ended up leaving a note for them to call me (good thing they never did). Intelligent – I wouldn’t say I’m smart so much as hardworking. But I think I hold my own in Words with Friends (Scrabble). Okay, well this is getting lengthy so I’ll conclude with something somewhat personal.
My life's dream is to become a professor at an academic hospital specializing in hematology/oncology or GI and also doing health policy advocacy and research to improve this nation's healthcare system. Unfortunately the latter part I'm sure will keep me busy for a while. I also would like to travel all over and soak in all this great world has to offer. Though that's my dream that's still all secondary to family and those close to me.
I’m looking for someone to share a few laughs, have interesting conversations, explore new parts of the city, learn new skills together, and find fun activities to do. Perhaps I can teach you tennis and you can teach me another language (Spanish!). I’m also fairly particular in what attributes I think would be most compatible.
