The most important things in relationship to me are open, honest, heart-felt communication, and integrity. I like a touchy-feely guy, who has sensitive hands, loves to touch, and be touched. I love a handy man, one who may build or fix things, work with stone, landscape, paint, create art, and the like.
I'm an information gatherer and intellectual. I'd rather engage in an activity for the sheer joy of it, like swimming, horseback riding, skating, skiing, hiking, biking, than participate in competitive sports, all of which are more fun shared with a special someone. Sorry guys, but I don't see the point of football. I am particularly fond of hot springs and camping close by, love to be out in natural settings, adore swimming, especially in warm waters, like boating, fishing, hiking. I would love to experience kayaking. I've had horses, and love to be around them, including grooming and cleaning stalls. Horse camping in the mountain wilderness is one of my dreams. I don't mind getting dirty in the outdoors or with animals, as long as I can clean up afterwards.
I grew up in the 60's and 70's, and still embrace some of those hippie ideas and practices. I'm looking for a partner who is practicing a green lifestyle, interested in sustainable culture. I dream of being off-the-grid, and would love to one day design and build an aesthetically-pleasing, energy-efficient, natural home, in a rural setting away from the crowd. I recycle and compost as much as possible, re-use, and renew. I believe in astrology, and several alternative belief systems.
I'm independent, practical, pragmatic, self-sufficient, and genuine. I work in the healthcare fields, nursing in an Intensive Care Unit, and feel it is a mission to serve humankind. My time off is spent reading, watching movies and documentaries, doing Qi Gong, yoga, meditating, sauna, working in the yard, gardening, and cooking. It would be nice to come home to a person who could understand and offer nurturance to one who serves those in pain and suffering. I have a passion for cooking and food preparation, and have a strong interest in nutrition. I love sharing that passion with my partner who hopefully likes to wield a knife, and loves to eat our incredible creations. I prefer organic, clean, natural foods, and eat consciously, minimizing toxic or chemical influences. I've experienced several meditation techniques and find Vipassana to be most rewarding. I like to travel and see new places, especially with a partner who shares common interests. I like order and aesthetic beauty in my surroundings,
I love music of all kinds, classic and alternative rock, jazz, blues, R & B, soul, bluegrass, reggae, New Age, some classical and big band. Country music is not my favorite, having been raised in the mountains of East Tennessee. I've said my father tortured me with country and hillbilly gospel.
