I would like to meet a friend, a partner, a lover, and ..... a cook? or, is that asking for too much. Actually, food, travel, reading, staying healthy, and life-long learning are some of my passions. I am a secure, sure-of-herself independent. I have been successful in several careers, including teaching middle school, real estate and private industry. Currently for the past 6 years I have been working in the medical laser industry, which I love .It is challenging, educational and fun. Like all people, I have had my bumps in the road too. But, I feel that life has been good and is getting better. Age does change one's attitude of "why not" . I pretty much will try anything, except when I realize that, oh yea, it might hurt.

I am happy and love living in southern California. If I could, I would spend most of my time traveling, reading and exploring the near and far. Treasures are around us here. . So far, life has been an interesting journey. After raising my family, I went into the work force with what turned out to be a mostly gratifying career working with people with whom I share the same passion. I have just RETIRED. The next chapter is about to begin and I cannot wait to just "be" because my profession was more than full time. My home is in San Diego, but I spend a geat deal of time in Los Angeles because of a beautiful granddaughter and friends who live there. NYC makes my juices flow and i try to visit as often as possible- I have many friends who live there too, so I'm on the move a lot.
Many things interest me and I'm looking forward to having the time to pursue them while trying to stay immersed in my field on a gratis level. It's simply too interesting to totally walk away. I've traveled from the far east to the middle east to Cuba and in between, but I prefer travel to explore and learn rather than lay on a beach. A daily brisk walk starts my day. I’m definitely not high maintenance, yet sometimes I think men prefer that. I relish intimacy, yet I think individuals, especially at our age, need not smother one another. The domestic side of me wasn't lost when I became a professional outside the home, and I love to cook, bake and have friends over to share a good meal and conversation. I have three grown sons who are all successful in their respective careers and who have given me six grandchildren. I hope to spend the rest of the journey with a kind gentle soul who appreciates my presence, companionship, intellectual curiosity and independent spirit (as I would his) with the end goal of skidding in and stating, “WOW, what a ride”!

I grew up in England, just outside London. At 18 I emigrated to the US and have lived in Southern California ever since.
Family is of the utmost importance to me, my grown daughter lives just a few miles from me, we are very close and talk all the time. My son and little grand daughter live in Denver, I see them every two to three months.
I work for a company in Carlsbad, as our factories are in Asia I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to go there a few times.
I love to travel, seeing new places, revisiting those that I fell in love with previously, even if for just a week-end.
Golf is something I am trying to get better at. I started taking lessons once a week and hopefully, in the not too distant future, I will be good enough to actually get out on the course and hack around. It's a nice way to be outside and have fun.
I am always open to new things and would like to meet a man who I can have a good time with, who enjoys long walks, music, watching football, not all day though, or just a cozy evening watching TV. I am not an expert in the kitchen however, at times I like to try new recipes. Meeting a man who likes to cook now and then would be a real plus but not a necessity.
