Between crying and laughing when life dumps on you, I choose laughing. Love adventures and spent my time before kids on many. Was a ski instructor, traveled Europe solo 3 times (once on a bike, but didn't skip the museums,) climbed Denali on my honeymoon (not recommended!) Hope to get back to all that someday. For now, I take my kids on adventures. We climb, bike, camp, etc. (Why isn't climbing listed in the Match sports?)
You are more likely to find me at Home Depot than shopping for shoes. Better with a circular saw than a spatula, but learning to grill out. You liking to cook? Give that man a star! You cook, I'll clean. Like to work on the house or in the yard when not off adventuring.
Optimistic by nature, but my humor is sarcastic. I try to find the bright side of a bad situation (though I can't find anything fun about doing laundry!) I'm not shy (you probably figured that out by now though :-) Since kids are brutally honest, I asked mine to describe me. Crazy came up a lot. Not in the bad "Mommy Dearest" or "Sybil" sort of way. Crazy as in spontaneous and ready to have fun and not worry about what the world thinks. Here's the list: Hard-working, wonderful, amazing, loving, kind, and crazy (time #1), crazy (first billing with this kid!) positive, funny, determined. Of course they probably are biased and If you get to meet them, you can ask for the negative words they'd use so you'll have a fair chance to run.
Don't know what to make of the plethora of profiles here that espouse honesty. I don't find that people are very honest these days, but I still try to start out trusting. I'm curious if there's a site where all the dishonest ones go! Also, I don't really think there is anyone who doesn't love walking on the beach, sitting by a fireplace, etc, with the one you love. Key element there is "with the one you love" everything is better! If you don't like those things, you are likely not going to be here! (That other site must be a pretty dismal place! LIars and hermits!)
I believe in God. My faith has grown when I've been hit with some horrendous situations in life. I've also gotten pretty mad at the Man upstairs and asked him to just leave me alone. Luckily he's a really, really forgiving guy (or at least I hope so!)
If you don't know the definition of integrity, don't bother. Honesty is not an optional trait as I am most definitely honest to a fault and so expect that of others. I've been told by friends that if they were stuck on a desert island, they'd want me with them. I'm fiercely loyal. I stick up for the underdog, speak out against wrongs and try to make them right. I'm not one to sit still, except maybe at the beach. If you have kids I see that as a plus, not a minus. If you think you can keep up, that's a good place to start.
Not shallow, but I generally don't respond to those without photos, it just adds another step. I don't really understand the purpose of being on here and delaying knowing what the other person looks like. Makes sense for some, just not me.
I appreciate/understand those who might hesitate due to my "status," but that's a financial necessity for right now, not an indiction of emotional indecision.

. I am grateful for who my parents were. Friends and family would describe me as dedicated, pretty easygoing, cooperative yet independent, focused, busy, strong/capable. I am happy to have travelled as much as I have. I am glad that I have been a professional symphony orchestra violinist, therefore a musician who has played world class literature, among others with specific high level training, while also having dabbled amidst all other venues of music. Things are different during the average school-year schedule for an instructor and a single parent, but simple pleasures might be to play board games with the endearing senior citizen neighbor across the street, or watch small amounts of MeTV with my son (it is dated and RETRO). I'm a natural in the kitchen and can fulfill most of my whims for creating something yummy whenever I want to. I have a piano that calls me every now and again and so being at home is nice. We are both morning people mostly. A six a.m. workout habit (or at least 4 days a week) has been important and practically necessary. We're good at taking what comes to us, for instance, my son was sick on Valentine's Day and so we had to stay home instead of going to school/work.
I might boast that I am debt-free. Fiscal responsibility/stability plays a major role in my upbringing and character. I have learned that I expect no less from key persons in my closest circles. I am calm and polite and admire and warm up to tones of voice and manners that don't bring overt attention to themselves. LOUD is much less attractive and just not for me. Most folks guess my looks and age to be typically twenty years younger than I am:)
