. I'm the most social hermit you will ever meet. Most of my time you will find me laughing and playing with my family or hanging out with friends. But, I am just as content on long walk by myself. I have a lot of energy and would love to find someone to share my adventures.
My job is amazing! I teach children to read. There is a new challenge every day. It fascinates me to watch children learn. In return, my kids have taught me to be observant, patient, and to persevere.

At the present time I'm not envolved with no one. I have my 5yr.old granddaughter I take care of. I am a widower. I enjoy doing thing around my like planting flowers,fixing things in my apartment, also doing a garden. I am what you call a jill of all trades.
. Normally, I’m a planner and a builder. I do like to do spontaneous things day to day, but the grand scheme for me needs to be well-thought-out; I want to have something to show for my efforts and someone to share the effort with, so we can appreciate and enjoy it together. That effort might be as short term as hosting a successful and fun party/barbeque/dinner party, as medium term as a reconstruction project around the house or as long term as building/renovating a home together. Or whatever the project might be. Plan something, see it through and celebrate it. Then, figure out what’s next that builds on what has been achieved thus far. That pretty much applies to everything that I find satisfying. Day-to-day, I love to cook, do gardening/landscaping, feeding and watching the birds and other wildlife, finding cool things at lawn sales or auctions, concerts, farmers markets, arts festivals, hiking, camping, and taking care of hearth and home. I like to try different restaurants also, and I am comfortable in a 5-star, very dressy atmosphere as well as eating bar food in a place where you throw your peanut shells on the floor, and everything in between. I enjoy all types of food. I also like to travel and experience new places, but not constantly. A really awesome vacation once or twice per year is good with me. And, by awesome I don’t mean big dollars, but just one that my significant other and I look forward to for weeks ahead of time and that is special for us. I would not veto any vacation ideas as long as we could agree upon them together. I would love to start going to college and/or NFL football games again regularly, as that has been absent from my life for awhile. As long as I’m with someone who loves doing what we’re doing together, I’m happy! I like other sports, too (basketball, baseball) but don’t follow them closely – I just like going to games. It’s not really about the places for me as much as it is having someone to share it with that’s enjoying it at least as much as I am. Right now, I live with my 4 cats and 1 dog in a rental house. I am very grateful to have my critters with me and a nice place to stay, but I want a home again. And someone to share it with that understands that Sunday dinners are sacred family time (even if it’s just the two of us and our animal family with the NFL on the TV) and that weekends are times to be celebrated after a long work week. My partner needs to value home and hearth as much as I do, but with room to breathe as individuals. If I meet someone I gel with and he happens to also be a Dad, that’s okay. I don’t think I’m a very complicated person, and I would definitely not describe myself as high maintenance. I am quiet in a group situation initially until I get a feel for who I’m with. I am introverted, but not to the extreme. I am attractive, intelligent, down-to-earth, well-mannered, and have a good sense of humor. I absolutely think Jim Carrey is hysterical, and I also like the South Park and Family Guy type of stuff. For drama I like 24 (The Jack Bauer Power Hour!!) and also all of the Law and Orders, House, etc. I dislike the “reality” shows. I really don’t watch that much TV, though. I like to read and do crosswords and Sudoku, and I’m not opposed to board games or cards either. That’s pretty much it – I’m looking for someone I mesh with in an uncomplicated, straightforward way. No lies or putting on airs. That is a big deal breaker. Also, no cigarette smoking – not even a little or occasionally. And NO professional musicians. If you play for your own enjoyment and for family and close friends – cool. If you perform for crowds of strangers, or are striving to do so – NO. And finally, both of us need to be financially independent, and intend to stay that way. Those are pretty much the only things that would send me running the other way in a heartbeat. I’m sure there is someone out there who will value me as much as I do him. Let’s see if we can find each other!
. My match must be sensitive with a great sense of humor like myself. Dry humor is funny. I like people that knows what is going on and not living with rose colored glasses on.
I like to try new things and don't mind getting out of my "comfort zone". There are a lot of things that I would love to do but have never been able to afford. I keep saying,"One of these days"....
