Rumi just makes me melt..... Too many others to mention... Paul Hawken. His 2009 commencement speech at the University of Portland is amazing and he's a beautiful writer. It inspires me constantly.
Guilty pleasures: fresh flowers, splurging on hardbacks if it's something I really want to read.
Great editorials in the papers. Movies from the 40's (but never the re-makes). I like reading the thesaurus, too... does this make me a geek? I don't care. . There are always new words to learn.
But some nights I'm don't feel like being intellectual. Then I watch American Idol and REALLY EMBARRASSING shows like Real Housewives.......

Peace rallies - and important protests....I'm not very aggressive so I usually keep a low profile. But I love seeing people so hopeful for, and open to change. . Getting into fundrasiers, sometimes paying, sometimes offering to work them, sometimes climbing over a fence (o.k., I've only done that once, but it was for a really important cause!)
