I love the smells and sounds of new restaurants and am adventurous at Thai, tapas, and Pho places. Indulging in a good seafood feast is always a treat and I have a secret arsenal of hole-in-the-wall Mexican places too. In St. Tropez, my favorite restaurant is Le Club 55. In Laguna, IРІР‚в„ўm drawn to Sapphire, they have the best home fried potato chips. I get excited by a restaurant with beautiful lighting, delicious food, great vibes, and interesting people. Throw in comfy seats with a great view or an outdoor dining room and I am in heaven.
Can you hear the gnomes and fairies in Tuolumne Meadows? I swear I can. There is nothing that puts a grin on my face like a road trip up Hwy 395. On a chilly spring day, I love the ancient damp cave smell of the alleys in Venice. After walking and taking it all in, I relish a plate of fresh tagliatelle.
My favorite all-time smell though is a walk down a horse barn aisle while breathing in the mix of wood shavings, alfalfa and grain. ThereРІР‚в„ўs nothing like it. Take me to a place where I hear the sound of a horse nickering and snorting while they munch their hay and you will have to pry me away. Roping lessons are on my bucket list.
After getting dirt under my nails tending to my organic gardening or horseback riding, I take a hot relaxing bath followed by a cozy afternoon nap.
My breath gets taken in the Amalfi and Sonoma coastlines, anywhere in Rome and Florence and by the dramatic sunsets off Captiva Island. I love a good romp in St. Tropez, NYC and Paris or a soak in an ancient bath in Budapest. I feel at home in Tokyo, Napa, London, Aspen, Haiti, LA, north Kauai, MarthaРІР‚в„ўs Vineyard and the Eastern Sierras.
