A little about me... I moved to the West Coast roughly sixteen years ago and I have to say it has definitely been the best move I could have ever made. People don't realize how good they have it out here in California... just go through a couple of East Coast winters and you'll know what I mean!
I love football... I have played my whole life and I feel it adds to the character of many at risk youth so I volunteer as a coach for a youth program here in the South Bay. I am also a huge 49ers fan so if you are too well then that's a huge plus!

I have worked with trees my whole life. I received my undergrad in forestry from Humboldt State. I spent my 20's roaming the great northwest while working for consulting companies, timber companies, and myself. I loved many aspects of the career, but the uncertainty of employment was not one of them. So now I'm back in the bay working on a career shift. I still work with trees, maintaining them near power lines, but devote most of my brain power to school.
I have a passion for many fields of science, from biology and ecology to physics, psychology, and math. NPR gets me through many of my days, and I'm a big fan of Forum and Talk of the Nation. Science Fridays are my favorite kinds of Fridays. I used to read a lot of nonfiction book, especially when I was living in a tent out in the wilderness. Not so much these days, but it's something I'd like to get back into if I can free myself from the distractions of modern living.
I'm a minimalist in terms of possessions and enjoy spending long periods of time in natural environments. I'm also generally avoid crowds unless I know a lot of the people in the bunch.
