Date a man from Canoga Park, United States. I grew up most of my life in the LA area (Cerritos), moved out to Japan (Kobe and Hiroshima) for six years to teach English, and now have returned to Cali for work.
I enjoy an active lifestyle, going to the gym 4-5 times a week. I've also been hitting the hiking trails for hikes and trail running as well. I love how running clears my mind and makes me feel healthy.
I get pleasure from satisfying others' appetites by cooking for them. My specialty is takoyaki (you get brownie points if you know what that is), but I like trying new recipes as well. Someone who is down to learn some new recipes with me, or at least be the guinea pig would be perfect. More brownie points to a girl who can bake some good cookies.
Other things I'm looking for in a girl: A great smile goes a long way with me. Someone who is fun and easy to travel with. I love to travel and see new places, whether it's a day trip or for a whole weekend. Also, I am just as comfortable spending a night in with a cooked meal and Netflix, as I am going out, so someone who could enjoy the same would be perfect.

I'm a huge fan of the theater (Broadway), love science fiction and action/comedy movies, and spend time outdoors every weekend while making repairs on my house or playing basketball. I also play work league soccer and softball. I enoy other outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, etc. Both culture and pop culture interest me. I am as comfortable at a musical, comedy club, or orchestral performance or gossiping about the latest celebrity gossip.
My days are spent working as an engineer protecting Los Angeles from the natural disasters that continue to occur here. It's great work that allows me to spend time both in the office and outside. I am spiritual, raised with Christian beliefs, with a degree and goals in life. I am family oriented and value quality over quantity. I like to work with my hands.:) I paint, sew my own costumes, craft, make jewelry, and work in a metal fabrication shop (we also do powder coating and sandblasting). I design flowers for special events/weddings (just for friends now), and work/play at the Renaissance Faire every year. Headed to my 6th Burning Man in 5 weeks!! 2012. :)
I have very cool parents. We still have family dinner every Monday night. They are still together after 42 years, and still having fun. (this would be my ultimate life goal.) And btw Mom taught me to cook.
If you were to describe me in one word, it would be "artist" (the other title would be sci-fi geek). I might have a slight tendency to say quotes from movies. Star Wars, Big Trouble in Little China, Anchorman, Tommy Boy, The Birdcage, Real Genius, MST3K, TRON and more. (yes, I loved the the new TRON!!!)
Music is very important to me, my favorite band is Depeche Mode, but I like a lot of everything with a good beat. Lately it's been all about ELECTRO. :) I also like industrial, 80's, punk, ELECTRO HOUSE, progressive house, techno, hip hop, some dubstep if I'm in the mood, old metal, classical, rock n' roll, anything electronic, electro pop, alt rock, etc. I can send you an extensive list if you really wanna know the rest.
I can have a good time whatever I'm doing, especially with the right company. I find it very easy to make friends, and have a select few that mean the world to me.
I don't play dating games, so neither should you. If you like someone then just call them. Relationships are all about honesty and compromise. Just BE DIRECT and say WHAT YOU WANT, WHAT YOU NEED, and HOW TO GIVE IT TO YOU.
The sparks gotta fly between us, or what's the point? I believe that the right person is out there, and I'm not interested in settling for less than GREAT! (for me anyway) I hold very true to my values, skewed though they may be, and so should you.
