Money serves a purpose, but it isn’t important to me. Years back I wanted everything, now I know I need nothing. In recent years, I’ve become the ultimate minimalist... Items, things, possessions, stuff, collections, etc, mean next to nothing to me. “Have” is now very seldom used in my vocabulary. I’ve sold & given away about 90% of all I own thus far; & more is going. My next big/only move is relocation to Mexico. I’m a full-time amateur poker player. I seek a different type of wealth that the game brings to me. A simple life is all that I desire. My goal is to keep everything I own in a sea bag & a backpack, for travel purposes. Been sitting here weighing the pros & cons of this post. Truthfully, I haven't really known much joy, happiness, love &/or relationships. I know I have loved, but never been "in love". I like to live life and to me that entails trying new things and meeting new people. I am outgoing and I say yes much more than I say no. The most important thing in my life is my music. I'm a songwriter and I sing sweet, sweet love songs that simultaneously melt and break hearts. Outside of music I have a real job and I am happy to say I have been successful so far in my career. As to who I am looking for, I'm not totally sure (which is probably why I am on here). Definitely someone with a creative side--whether it is art, music, or something else, creativity is huge for me. About me: I imagine most probably feel as weird about this part as I do, so I'm just going to ramble on for a little bit here and hope that works out. So, who am I? I'm that guy you saw wandering up and down the aisles at the grocery store at 11:00 p.m. Ya, the one with the confused look on his face who circled the store five times trying to find a particular item. I was the one who you made eye contact with at the bar/store/mall/whatever. You held eye contact for a bit and maybe smiled, but this was quickly followed by me copping out with a quick judgment that justified not approaching you, or maybe my ride was leaving. I was that dude you had the interesting conversation with over dinner and drinks with mutual friends. We really connected, I know, but I had a girlfriend at the time, and well... bummer. Do you remember that guy who sat two seats to the right of you in your poly sci class? The one who made all of the comments to which the professor feigned annoyance, but subtly appreciated? Me again.
Regarding surface level stuff, I'm new-ish to SD. I've been here for a little over a year now. It took me a while to get used to being down here, but it's finally starting to feel like home. I work M-F 8-5 for a marketing company and I'm working on a master's degree on the side. Between that, the trips back home on the weekends (Chino), and moving 3 times over the past year, weddings/bachelor parties/birthdays, and getting out and about when I can down here, I've been pretty busy. I'm sure it's cliche' to say that, "I want to go explore SD" but, hey, I do. I want to go to the museums in Balboa Park, go check out Coronado, go to Sea World, go to the wineries in Temecula... and I FINALLY have the time to do so :) Next spring I want to get a motorcycle again and go for weekend rides. Nothing beats a lazy Sunday sometimes though too, but I'm typically restless and would want to at least get out and do at least something during the day.
A little bit more about me is that I grew up in a rural/urban environment. I say that as my family had horse property within a city in Chino. I've also lived in a rural-ish part of Texas and went to college in a rougher urban environment (Pomona). I mention this as I believe being "well-rounded" is an important trait of mine, and I think that the lifestyle dictated within each of these very different settings played a large role in that. What else... I'm pretty analytical, I'm decent with numbers (and hopefully writing), laidback in my free time, ambitious with work/school, curious by nature, I like to make people laugh, I like games (not really video gamer, though I'll pick it up once in a while)... not really sure what else to put here so I'll stop rambling.
Oh yeah, I'm also really good at killing spiders. I can also wield a hammer and a tire iron like nobody's business.

This last year was a great year for me, I went back to SDSU for my teaching credential. I had graduated in 2006, but my diploma wasn’t being used and I had stepped away from my true passion in life, teaching. If you are reading this I'm assuming that you have already looked at my photos (let's be honest, it's the first thing everyone does) and at least found me cute enough to read this part, high five! This is my first time trying something like this and I'm not sure exactly what to say or expect, but here goes: I am looking for a woman who I have a special bond with, someone who is my best friend. I am very motivated and goal oriented so I like to be working towards something. I love my job and I am very good at it. I sometimes work odd hours and have weird days off which makes meeting people hard (hence my foray into internet dating), but I will always make time for those important to me. I take my career seriously, but it doesn't rule my life. I love my family and friends (who doesn't?) and I spend as much time with them as I possibly can.
I have been told I don't have a lot of photos in my profile so I would like to apologize right off the bat. I don't have a bunch of pictures of me in crazy and exotic places, skydiving/ scubadiving/ triatholon/ biathalon/ marathon photos (but I have done most of those things), or magazine quality pics of myself. But, at least I'm not taking photos of myself in the bathroom mirror flexing with my shirt off - which is something I've heard guys do on this site (why?), and that has to count for something :) Best wishes!
