I am almost always reading something, I write when I get the impulse, play ice hockey and kickball, rock at pub trivia, make pretty good frozen margaritas. That being said, that's really only a start on how I keep busy. I'm always adding new things. I really do intend to get back to working my way through a cookbook my sister gave me. Since so many people seem to be new to San Diego, let me just say that I'm not. I've been here for years, less four for college. But since I always came back it was pretty much like being here the whole time.
I am hopelessly devoted to my California Golden Bears. If you know who they are, then you understand how true that statement is. As an aside, I was once crowd surfed, against my will, at a college football game. That was an interesting experience. When it comes to hockey, I'm a San Jose Sharks fan which tends to be a bit of a roller coaster ride.
I have certain TV shows that I enjoy because I think that TV is a great storytelling medium. Recently they've ranged from Downton Abbey to Smash, both of which are well done in their own way. However, I'm more likely to be out and about than staying in. There's too much fun stuff to do in San Diego and despite the fact I've been around here for quite some time I haven't done a lot of it! You never know what I might be up to. Sometimes it's hockey practice, sometimes it's enjoying an establishment that serves age appropriate beverages with friends, other times I'm listening to Dixieland jazz or gypsy swing at a cafe, and sometimes I'm at Disneyland because--you know what?--I just feel like going.
Fun fact: people ask me questions all the time. I don't mean my friends. I mean random strangers. I have been standing on a crowded platform waiting for a train and disoriented people will come up to me in the midst of 60 other people to ask which is the right train to get on. This has been happening for years in book stores, on street corners, in airports. The list keeps growing.

I replay songs in the car to practice singing. It makes no sense why I do this. I'm sure it amuses other drivers.
I don't really like saying who/what I'm looking for because I sense it will sound really generic - we all want to meet honest people. I think a good relationship is one in which we can learn from each other - maybe if you have a cool hobby, or you like trying new restaurants on the weekend...or if you want to just laugh at the way I dance.

Date single boy from California, United States. What's up, Match.com? I moved back to San Diego a couple of months ago as the last leg of my life adventure down the California coast. I went to school up in the Bay Area, lived in San Francisco for a while, then Los Angeles, and here i've arrived! I live up by the North Park because I love culture, good food, fun bars, live music, and anything entertaining, really.
I don't lift weights 5 days a week or pretend I surf. I'm from here so I like to skateboard, body womp, people watch, make fun of zonies and non-locals alike. I don't try to be hip because I already know i'm cool and comfortable in my own skin. I have a dog, and she's more interesting than a lot of random people i've encountered. At the same time, I meet awesome people all the time because i'm extremely open and always welcome to new and exciting conversations.
What am I looking for? Someone who is down to earth, smart, honest, and happy with who they are. I don't need a crowd pleaser or a person who's friends get to decide who they date. In a perfect world you would meet, hit it off, and call the rest history - that's what i'm talkin about! Obviously there is a process, and now it includes the internet, so i'm just trying to see if it'll work!
At the same time, I'm hoping to meet a good person on here, someone I can potentially have a relationship with. I understand there are a lot of free dinners and drinks to be had by meeting people on a site like this, but i'd really like it to all mean something. If thats sounds good, then we should chat!

Meet men and women from California, United States. I am a born-and-bred Minnesotan of 21 years who took the chance to see what the west coast (San Diego) had to offer back at the end of 2006. Now 5 1/2 years later I have come to realize just how fortunate I have been to have established myself here in southern California! Having previously bartended for nearly 6 years I built up my repertoire of clientele and have developed connections in/around the city from restaurants/music scene/golf...even airfare! I have dabbled in the backpacking culture and have toured 19 countries over the past 4 years, covering most of Europe and a chunk of Southeast Asia! I even recently made the escape from the food/bar industry as of last November to pursue the home-improvement field which has netted me a much more respectable income and has me laser-focused on purchasing my 1st house here in San Diego (hopefully by the end of 2012).
I also have become what I like to call a "self-appointed Ambassador" for the non-profit, "pay-it-forward" type of website known as the CouchSurfing.org project. I have hosted 40 groups/individuals from all corners of the globe and have allowed them to stay at my bachelor pad here in North Park, playing tour guide for free all over the county :D I have utilized this genius site to meet travelers and also have a place to stay when abroad...the beauty in developing solid relationships with locals is priceless!!
That being said, it should come as no surprise that I am quite confident in what I'm doing and where I'm going and I would be ecstatic to be able to find someone who shares some of these same ambitions. One day I will get married in the Swiss Alps in the tiny village known as Gimmelwald and it will be the most romantic, amazing day of my life : ) I plan to complete a bucket list that is a 1/2 mile long....skydiving/speaking a 2nd language fluently, playing a musical instrument fluidly, and experiencing all 7 continents on Earth...and maybe space :D

Date people from North Park, United States. Bam! I'm probably one of the most outgoing people you will ever meet. I moved to the San Diego area two years ago from the Midwest and don't see myself ever turning back. I'm a successful salesman that works within the restaurant industry. As much as I love to go out to eat I get just as much enjoyment out of preparing dinner myself. To stay active I'm involved in a soccer and softball leagues and just started to truly recognize all the great hiking opportunities in our area.
I grew up in a small town in Illinois. I always have to tell people not Chicago. My family knew I was going to be a salesmen growing up but they had no idea where it would take me. Out of college I worked for a 100 year old seafood company and eventually ended up running the entire St. Louis territory. I was ready for a change and put my one year notice in. They took it seriously about ten months later. I moved to Phoenix for one month and couldn't find a job I wanted and didn't want to settle. Out of the blue I received a call from a friend back in IL and he told me he took a job in SD. We met up in Phoenix and got a place on the beach. After doing a Google search of wholesale seafood companies and finding a quality business 1.7 miles away I walked in and was offered a job. I did that for a year and now work for the best meat company in southern California if not the US. My company works with high end restaurants. Think Ruth's Chris, Thomas Keller and Wolf Gang Puck. I get a laugh everytime I tell someone what I do and they ask me if I drive a truck around and sell meat door to door. I love my job and see myself working here for the next 20 years.
There are so many things that I could ask for in a woman but at the end of the day I want a woman I can call my best friend. Someone that is able to laugh at themselves when they mess up, put 100% into everything they try, and strive to push both of us to be better people. My ideal match would also have to be a Christian. Meet a soulmate from North Park, United States. I seriously have the coolest job ever! I’m a Navy Flight Surgeon, basically the private physician for a group of Marine Corps F-18 Fighter Pilots! I get to fly in the F-18 and get launched over 5g’s from an Aircraft Carrier as part of my job! Recently got back from 6 a month deployment where we did combat ops in Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, and fought Somali Pirates! I actually got to take care of the Somali Pirates who executed 4 Americans back in February. It’s crazy being part of history! Also just finished a 6 week humanitarian mission to Guyana! I'm all about laughter and forming those invaluable connections w/ people. Those bonds are what defines humanity and are all we have in times of adversity and strife. I come from a loving and harmonious family which mean the world to me. I really believe in the value of self reflection, introspection and contemplation which helps identify and place meaning and value into life. Huge fan of reading, audiobooks, running, kareokee, and dancing! And yes, diet drinks are the closest thing around to water that's still unhealthy.
I don’t think you’re ready to be with someone until you know who you are. I really like meeting different people, and would love to find someone who has just as loving a family as I do and values education as much as I do. Date people from California, United States. So...describe myself such that my dream girl can't resist in a few paragraphs. Sounds impossible but here we go.
About me, well let's start with background. I come from a pretty small town by the coast in the South. The coastal thing is pretty big to me. While I love the mountains, the water is where I belong. Let's see, a couple of insights into my personality. If I had to describe myself in one word it would probably be genuine. I believe that you can't really knock something till you've tried it (heroin, jail, and a couple of others being the exceptions to this rule). Anything worth having in life is worth working/fighting for, and while I consider myself an open minded progressive and travelled individual, I'm a sucker for some tradition and am sometimes an old soul. Christmas trees don't count unless they are real, fires aren't the same unless they crackle, and you are more likely to hear James Brown tunes coming from my place than Cee Lo Green.
Physically, I'm a little over six feet with a with a medium build. I also really enjoy traveling, trying new places, and seeing how other people view things.
Now let's talk about you. First off, smart is sexy. I want a woman that will stimulate me mentally as well as physically. This being said, I am also generally attracted to strong willed women. Not overpowering, bossy, control freaks, but an independent woman that knows what she wants out of life. Looking for a woman that enjoys throwing on the black dress and pearls for a night on the town as well as won't freak out when no showers are available for a weekend trip camping on the cliffs over the pacific ocean in Mexico. I am now at a great point in my life and I have a great sense of humor and never take things too seriously. I can laugh at myself and dish out a good bit of sarcasm. I recently bought a house in a great neighborhood, it's a fixer-upper so I spend time working on it and would love some decorating ideas. I get asked a lot why I'm still single.
