Date single man from San Diego, United States. What’s happening Diego!
My name is Ian. I relocated to the left coast a little over a year ago for work (originally, from West Chester, PA). I’ve lived in a variety of places both nationally and internationally (examples include, but are not limited to: NYC, CT, PA, brief stints in WA, Nairobi (Kenya), Gaeta (Italy), Guam).
I’m definitely a cynic when it comes to online dating, but an optimist at heart. I intended to get off of the site about a month ago, but the match people decided to automatically renew my subscription. That being said, I am making one last valiant attempt at this online dating thing before my subscription expires on 4/19. So if you’re interested ladies, you had better act quickly.
Here a few fun facts/statements that I believe distinguish me from most:
- My circle of friends is large and includes people I met in pre-school, grade school, middle-school, high school, college, law school, and through a variety of experiences that span the globe. In short, friends in my circle are plentiful and stuck in it for life.
- I walk on the traffic side of the street, open car doors, and love to cook. Chivalry is not dead... what can I say, Mama raised me right.
- I’m genuine and open-minded. As my pop taught me long ago - always afford an individual respect, until they give you a reason not to.
- I love volunteering. I’ll do almost anything for friends, family, and even people that I hardly know.
- I try to do three things in some capacity every day – exercise my mind, body, and soul.
- Favorite quote: “You have to be happy no matter what it takes, and you have to keep smiling no matter how much it hurts.” (Bud Lewis - my great-uncle’s response to a question from a reporter on his centennial birthday about his secret to longevity. BTW – my Uncle Bud was the oldest living member of the PGA and passed away in November at the ripe old age of 103. I’ve got some good genes).
- I don’t have a lot of pictures of myself (hence the limited profile pics) or enjoy divulging information personal aspects of my character to strangers. It’s bit egotistical if you ask me, but as the great comedian Chris Rock said, “when it comes to dating - be the ambassador of you.”
In short, I’m not perfect and I don’t expect my partner to be. My parents (who are in their 60s) are a great example of what I’d like to find in a relationship – they challenge each other to be better people, are madly in love after almost 40 years of marriage, and cuddle on the couch daily. So what do I want… someone that I’ll want to get frisky with when we’re both old and worn, and (more importantly) challenges me to be a better person. If you’re capable of the latter feat in that statement, I’m certain the former will follow. Am I speaking to you?
Meet a man from San Diego, United States. I am down to earth, honest and a very positive person. When I'm not working, I'm usually spending time with friends just hanging out around San Diego. I love trying out new food places and wine bars, and i'm not huge on going out clubbing. I really enjoy the outdoors as well as traveling, and regularly go hiking, camping and do road trips. Been lucky enough to have traveled to many countries and I'm hoping to visit at least 2 new places each year. I also try to give back to the community whenever I can. I'm currently involved in 2 non-profits and hoping to one day open my own.
I'm looking for somebody open-minded, positive and compassionate who is looking to enjoy all the new experiences in life but who can also stop and enjoy the moment.
Date someone special from San Diego, United States. My philosophy on life is that I am Damn Lucky!!!!!!!!!
I live in one of the best Cities, I have great friends, and I laugh a lot. But most of all....I realize it!!!
I plan to live my life remembering that everything is a gift. I complain very rarely and I like to surround myself with people that feel the same.
I am a 33 year old man who loves people. I enjoy social mature events that allow me to meet new people and share laughs with friends. On weekends, I am open to doing just about anything from Hiking, to clubs, or even winding down with a Movie.
I work in liquor distribution as a sales rep.....Basically, I sales wine and Spirits to places with a liquor license. I love to drink and learn about wines but I am only a social drinker!!! ( If you’re a heavy drinker, I'm not interested )
Meet a soulmate from San Diego, United States. I was raised by my two mothers in a large commune whose ideologies included balance with nature, meditation, and weaving dolls out of straws and banana leaves. When I was 13, I was traded to wandering gypsies for five onions.
My last girlfriend had a wicked sound system in her Jetta which was awesome so that would be good. My Datsun has an Audio 4 system that kicks. It has an input plug, so that you can play your songs on your iPod through it, which is great. I don't own an iPod, but if I had a friend with an iPod and they wanted me to drive them somewhere, I would be like "Hey bro, lets play your music on your iPod through my stereo, do you have a MP3 adapter cable?" and they would have one, so then we could listen to Keith Urban on our way to Target.
I have a poster of a dolphin in my bedroom and a picture of a tiger on my quilt. I call the tiger Mishka. Sometimes I lay on my quilt and pat him and tell him about my problems. I enjoy sitting in my favorite chair at the window.
OK, enough of that. I've been living in the SF Bay Area almost my entire my life, with exceptions of short durations in Mexico and Boston. I'm a 100% first generation Italian. My parents speak it, I speak it, and my Dad talks "uh...like-uh-this."
Some basic internet dating site facts: I have a career not a job, no kids, no drug addictions, I dont smoke...ever. I dont have piercings or tattoos. I exercise often by gym, by tennis, by swimming, running, hiking, etc. I eat rather healthy 75% of the time and I'm skilled in the kitchen. So because of that, I would prefer someone with similar lifestyles (job, no kids, fit and active, etc.) Its ok if you have a tattoo, I would accept a small Smurf or a Lily pad on your ankle...but nothing more. ;) I'm not underwear model type by any means, but I am above average in health and fitness since I work hard at allocating time for it. This stems from a childhood that was quite the opposite...as such, I would prefer the same in my partner. I come from a close family, one sister, and a niece and nephew (twins). I just moved this summer to SD to be closer to them and visit them any chance I get.
I cherish my life, family, and friends very seriously without taking myself too seriously.
I stay pretty active with other interests: teaching tennis to kids, helping friends launch businesses, volunteering, and stand-up comedy.
Date single man from California, United States. I am very easy-going and physically active person. My job gives me no choice, so im not a gym rat...anymore. On weekends, I like to be outside, having a good time. Though, I don't mind enjoying a movie @home once in awhile either. I live in pacific beach because I love the atmosphere, and being close to the water. I don't surf, but I am a beach person. I ride my dirtbike as often as possible. I have been riding since age 4, and I think it's one of the funnest things a man can do. I know it is dangerous, Call me an adrenaline junkie, but it is also considered one of the best all-around workouts there is. I believe that my job/quality of life is the most important.
I have no particular preference in music. I love all music, reggae, hip hop, rock/punk, R&B, country, blues, oldies, "guilty pleasures", etc... I tend to adapt to anything that sounds good. I love going to all types of concerts, and if im in a club, I am even willing to dance, once in awhile;). I do my best to make people laugh and put them in a happy mood. Overall, I am looking for a good time with good company.
Meet a man from California, United States. I don't know the best way to approach these "about me" sections, but I feel I am a very down to earth person. I am confident, but not arrogant, very sarcastic, quit witted, and always fun to be around. My career is important to me, and I am willing to travel if it takes me further. But in the meantime I would like to be able to meet a nice girl and enjoy San Diego with her. I just moved here from Chicago so I thought this could be a good avenue to explore as a way to meet someone special or at the very least some quality friends.
I love to have fun, and most times I'm laughing at myself, so I like to surround myself with people that don't take themselves too serious. I will throw out the cliche I like to travel, because I do, but in all honesty I have never met anyone that doesn't, and chances are if you don't want to experience new things we probably won't get along. I'm an avid sports fan, (Go Cubs!) but not to the point where I wear zubaz's or paint my face to watch a game.
Anyway if you think we would get along let me know.
Date someone special from California, United States. I grew up in Portland, Oregon, but couldn't take the rain and cold any longer, so I moved to San Diego, and have been here for 12 years. While I live here in SD, I spend a good amount of time in NYC as the company that I work for is based there. I really enjoy the dichotomy the fast-paced vibe of NY and the laid back beach town vibe of SD. While I would say I'm very career-driven, I always make time to enjoy life.
While the 3am nights are few and far between these days, I'm a pretty social guy. I still enjoy going out for any given occasion, but a more realistic night out for me these days is happy hour and/or dinner/drinks. Lately I've found myself becoming more of a home body. No, I'm not a hermit, but there is something very gratifying about staying home on the weekend, cooking dinner, and being able to sleep in my own bed.
I love being outdoors, but wouldn't consider myself an avid "outdoorsman", as in, I don't need to go camping or mountain biking every weekend. That being said, if the weather is nice on the weekend (which it is most of the time in SD) I definitely like to spend as much time outside as possible, whether that's golfing, going for a run, or just bbq'n with friends.
I'm not 100% sure exactly who I am looking for, but definitely someone who is confident, witty, open-minded and doesn't take herself so seriously. Oh, and I love sports, football especially. I only bring that up because on any given Sat/Sun during football season (depending on the games), you have to be someone who doesn't get mad if I'd rather watch football than go to the mall... ;) If that sounds like you, or kind of like you, and you'd like to meet up for a drink or coffee, send me an email, I'd love to meet you!
Meet a soulmate from California, United States. The other day I found out I've been tying shoes wrong my whole life. Yes, there is a wrong way to do it. The second knot has to be in the opposite direction as the first knot. My parents are very proud.
I travel for coffee.
A long term study on baboons shows that alpha males 'retain power over other males and the best access to mating opportunities'. However, as a consequence to all the baboon fighting and peer antagonism these alphas do they have more stress in their lives. Maybe alpha males are stressed because being a jackass causes stress.
I think I've retired from most sports. The exceptions are water and snow skiing, tennis, and swimming. Being new to the area, some suggest that I use sports as a way to make friends. I was recently invited to play dodge ball. I declined because the idea of throwing balls at strangers is horrible.
When you're very tall, hugging people requires skill. I don't have this skill.
I've faithfully adhered to my new years resolutions. My self-discipline is a wonder. I reign over my impulses. I wish there was a contest.
Date single man from United States. Just moved back into town. Excited to be back in San Diego, especially for summer. I enjoy being outdoors, traveling and hanging out with friends and family. Looking for someone that doesn't take themselves too seriously and can enjoy a good laugh.
Meet a man from United States. I love to make people laugh and smile, all at the expense of myself. I'm one of those people who love thinking outside of the box. I tend to be heavily opinionated and when I have strong beliefs in certain things I tend to passionate when speaking. I do however believe that there is no absolute answer and I for one will look at both sides of the coin.
In the words of one of my friends, "We just call him Monkey Boy, need I say more? "Love discovering new things around town? Having a couple beers over live music? Watching sports either on tv or in the stadium? Checking out new museum exhibits? Send me a message....
Date someone special from United States. Someone who doesn't yell and looking for someone who also doesn't yell. I am someone you can talk to about anything. I am easy going but serious at the same time. I enjoy sports, the beach, and I do not like watching a lot of tv.
