Ok, now that the riff-raff has been taken care of, here's the skinny on me:
- I'm an Engineer by trade -- thus the bullet points (as Thom Yorke said: Everything in It's Right Place.) It's a fun job and I like it a lot. I get work with computers and techy stuff but I also get to be out in the open and see new places and things. As an added bonus, I have yet to see Ikea assembly instructions that I can't handle. I also have a major in History so I like to think that makes me a little more than just a human calculator. I have a lot of interests, so I've been called Renaissance Man/Jeopardy Contestant by my friends.
- I'm originally from the San Diego area, although I'm definitely not like the stereotypical So Cal guy. I wouldn't be mistaken for a cast member of 90210, my last name isn't Spicoli and I don't talk like Keanu. People say that I'mlevel-headed in pressure situations. I must admit that I can be competitive when need be. My humor has been called "wicked funny" by East Coasters -- think Daniel Tosh combined with Mel Brooks and Monty Python. Of course, others have called me jerkface, but those people don't have much of a sense of humor.
- I'd describe myself as geeky-cool, although I'd like to think that I'm more George Clooney than Napoleon Dynamite. I'm not so geeky that I play WoW, LARP or have an action figure collection (I do have limits.) All in all, I'd much rather prefer to be outside doing other things than sitting in front of a TV or computer. Without some sort of physical exercise per day I definitely don't feel quite right.
- I'm a big movie nut. If I've seen a movie once I can probably quote one or more lines from it (that is what all the girls are looking for, yes?). Like all guys, I love comedy and action movies, but will watch pretty much anything. I know lots of random trivia and my friends often call me up to settle bets for them. Suffice to say, you want to have my number should you ever find yourself in the Cash Cab...
- Hobbies? Well I have many. Most of them involve something mechanical. I'm into mountain biking (i used to race them), Jeeps, street bikes, old VWs, snowboarding (I currently suck at it, but I've only gone a handful of times)... the list goes on. I'm a pretty decent mechanic/handyman and have rebuilt several cars over the years. I also love road trips -- I usually bring my mountain bike with me if at all possible. I also like movies and going to shows/concerts or just walking around and seeing the sights. I'm more of a dive bar person than a raging partier for sure. Barbeques with friends and family are the best. Not much of a dancer but I've been known to embarass myself for the right girl. I'm pretty much open to trying anything once though... twice just to be sure I wasn't wrong the first time.
- Physical (and no, not the Olivia Newton John song)? I'm 5'8 with brown hair and green eyes. And since I've been asked, I guarantee that I will be 5'8 in person. Even though I don't have the classic runner's build I have been known to run a 10k now and then -- I even did a half marathon in February -- just don't expect me to keep up with you if you hail from Kenya. I'm always loking for someone new to train with...
- What kind of girl am I looking for? Hmm, I don't really have a 'type' per se. As long as you're honest, hard working, have a good sense of humor and open to trying new things I can't ask for anything more. Less drama is always preferred...

I moved to AZ and FL after college for a pro golf career, which didn't work out. So I moved to SD nine years ago for a biotech career and it turned out to be a great choice! I work in R&D developing medical devices and I absolutely love what I do, and I feel lucky to say that as well.
Usually I am an active person. You can find me at the beach playing volleyball or getting a tan, on the golf course, tennis court, at a restaurant, happy hour, at a friend's house, on a snowboard, or somewhere warm on the globe. Meet single man from United States. Is it just me, or does every Match profile read like the biography of a famous explorer? I can tell you this...I have never climbed Mt. Everest, I haven't been to 30 different countries, I do not go kayaking, mountain climbing or skiing 6 days a week, and I don't have pictures in front of those movie premiere backdrops. If that's what it takes to get a date in San Diego, then I'm in big trouble! While I do like to travel, go hiking once in awhile and have drinks with friends on the weekend, I honestly have no desire to be out running around with every free second I have. That is exhausting. Having a relaxing dinner with laid-back, intelligent and funny people is much more appealing to me. While some people feel they're wasting their lives if they're not out trying new things and going to new places with their circle of 100 friends, that's just not me. Coming from the Midwest, my priorities tend to revolve around strong bonds with family and friends rather than being a socialite and globetrotter. But, to each his or her own...
The most important thing I'm looking for in a partner is comfort. I've been with great girls who seemingly have it all on paper, but I just never had that feeling that I could completely be myself.
