I'm an eclectic mix of qualities and you should be as well: athletic, thoughtful, enjoys solitude, can dance to reggae or punk, had long term friendships with transients, worked in scientific research, traveled and continue to travel, couch-surfer, surfer, worked abroad...
I'm am quite fit trail running, biking the island of Hawaii, backpacking through India, etc. (I once ran a marathon on a whim, signing up the day prior. Oh, and it was straight up a mtn. climbing 6000ft.) I really don't define myself through my athleticism, but I am very active.
Reading should be something that you enjoy. If the last book you read was in college, please move on.
Friends have told me that I tend to talk less but say more.
If you are into clubbing, buying a beemer, bling, or can't make a statement without using "like," please move on, we aren't for each other. If you expect me to put the moves on you the first time we meet, prolley aint gonna happen. I am patient.
If you are open minded, yet grounded, considerate, not money oriented, though self sufficient, we may just well get along.
I come from a very rural/humble background in PA. I have been successful through my hard work and willpower. I'm not really looking for a trust fund child that has been handed everything, though I really won't hold that against anyone. I just do not think that we will connect very well. But who knows??
I have rebuilt the roof on my old home after reading a book (came out better than the neighbors pro job), tended a xeriscape garden for years, nurtured long term relationships, earned a shodan, modified motorcycles, eschewed career paths that paid a lot more, collected books, and ate a 3000 calorie piece of cake.
If you have a child/children, it would have to be a really great connection for me to be interested in pursuing a relationship.
Other: I want to learn more about music. Okay, this could turn off many but I am interested in learning about "classic" country music, i.e. real americana. I want to continue to travel and I don't mean tour bus type travel but getting out and meeting the locals and experiencing the life.
I tend to take on new hobbies every few years, always looking to grow, experience, and experiment.
I think that in the far future I'd prefer to live in an area with a medium size metro but easy access to wide open land esp. mountains. This will be many years from now though.
