I am originally a Southern girl, but left Kentucky when I was 18 and now love California, both north and south. I am a former engineer who has transformed herself into a sales and marketing exec in online entertainment (film) in San Francisco. This means I have a geeky analytical side balanced with pop-culture savvy. I love my job, but secretly dream of writing a novel and being a stand-up comedian.
I travel extensively for work, with the most frequent destinations being London, New York, and Los Angeles (used to have a fair amount of Asia travel thrown in.) Local, domestic, and international travel is always on my bucket list, with more of Italy, Spain, Croatia, Vietnam, Scotland and Istanbul on the short list. I grew up fishing, water skiing, tubing, and loving all lake sports and the outdoors.
I bartended during college to earn extra cash and I loved mingling with the clients and I learned how to play a wicked game of pool.
I am a former NCAA Nationals level athlete and love sports. I like to watch almost all sports: pro football, college basketball (go Cards), bike racing, golf, soccer, skiing, tennis are particular favorites. I enjoy local running races and have traveled all over the world to ride my bicycle and compete in races. I backed off on intensive running about three years ago, but IРІР‚в„ўd love to get truly competitive again. I work out about five times a week and recently joined a running club. I have only recently ventured into skiing, and while I love to go to Tahoe, Whistler, or other ski destinations in winter, I need some help honing my abilities. Surprisingly, given my athletic abilities, I am secretly a klutz.
I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, exploring new places and seeing new things in familiar places, beach volleyball, camping, cooking and eating, reading, and seeing movies – give me a horror movie or book over a chick flick any day!
I grew up in a stable and happy family (thankfully!) and as a result am self-confident and independent. I love and adore my family and we are very close. I travel to visit them often and they are an important part of my life. Getting back on Match in the past days, I see alot of really well written posts and am trying to do the same! I find this type of thing somewhat hard to write, not b/c I am not an open person when typing to a computer but prefer to be open in person! Here goes then... I have been out in CA for about 5 years and returned from living in Switzerland (for work) last fall. It was an amazing experience and I really tried to make the most out of it- the only downside is the TON of photos I have to sort through to put in some sort of order- one day, not today! I am currently learning to play golf and never ever thought I would be into it- but so far so good. I have a diverse group of friends and like the variety that offers in both experience and views.
