I fall a tad short on the reverant. I admit that I am, like most men, just a boy grown taller. I much prefer play to work, which is something I do very little of these days. I retired as a Det. Sergeant from the Sacramento Sheriff's Dept. several years ago, but I still go in and work a few days, when they get shorthanded. Frankly I get along pretty well by myself, but I do sometimes tire of looking across the table at an empty chair. I don't need a woman to take over my life, but it might be nice to share it. I fall shy of being a Redneck, but I do Fish and Hunt on occasion. I'd love to drive a new Corvette, but they won't pull a house trailer, so it's Pick-ups for me. I'm involved in a Shooting Sport known as Cowboy Action Shooting. We dress up in Cowboy or Victorian costumes and shoot the Old West guns in competition. I spend some of my time, through the Spring and Fall, traveling all over the West attending these Shoots. Yes, there are a lot of gals that shoot and some who just like to costume up and watch. As you might guess I'm a History buff and I love to prowl Antique shops. I have a thing for old signs and tin boxes. I have six Grand Kids, ranging in age from 18 months to fifteen. They live close by and I try to spend as much time as I can with them. I'm not much on getting dressed up, I had to wear a tie to work for too many years, but I do know how to tie one, my sox usually match and I will dress up if the occasion calls for it. I would venture a guess that I'm as romantic as the next guy, but I think it takes a woman to bring that out in a man. I'm patriotic and sentimental to a fault. I've been to other countries and in my mind, many Americans don't know how good they have it. And yes, I get misty eyed at the end of "An Affair to Remember" too and own my own copies of "Love Story" and "Driving Miss Daisy". My Football Knee, doesn't like to dance as much as I do. In closing, my spagetti sause and steak chicana are both World Class!My ideal match would be a lot better looking than I am. I would also want her to be smaller than me. She would have to be at least as good a cook as I am. I'd want her to be pretty independant and have her own mind. She would have to know that she was the adult half, but be understanding about boys and their toys. On top of all that, she would have to understand that some men just have to know whats on the other side of the mountain. By that I mean there is a lot of the USA that I haven't seen and it would be great to have a companion to wander with. The Marine Corps gave me an all expense paid tour of many of the Pacific Islands and the Far East. However I'd like a companion to go on some cruises and perhaps one day, Ireland.
