Had many interests and enjoyed being successful in many sports and activities in my younger days.. Not so young anymore and will have to re-shuffle the deck. I am a very loyal and trustworthy person in search of filling a big void. I don't care for the solo life, but don't care to be used anymore either. I have strong values and believe in treating others the way you would like to be treated. I am not attracted by overweight women either. Seems these days average is just 10 lbs. from obese. Why do people put pictures that just aren't real time on here. I don't lie and just don't understand why people do that. I feel I am an average guy that's works hard everyday and would like to come home to a loyal woman. So if you feel like you are a good woman who works hard and comes home tired every night like the rest of us, let me know. I am sorry if I don't want to climb every 14er and scuba dive after work. I take my dog, Louie, running most days in the early morning. We run around a large set of playing fields, and given the hour, he gets to run free. Invariably, there comes a point where he lags behind, captive to a smell or another dog's attentions. I keep going and will then let out a loud whistle. He responds, tearing after me with ears back, and a happy grin. It's one of the highlights of my day. The point? Patience Grasshopper, I'll get to that.
Outdoor adventures of many kinds appeal to me (though neither shark bating nor snake handling are at the top of my list). I have gone surfing in Mexico, backpacking in MT and CO, and run a marathon in AK (where I caught a king salmon - uh...not during the run). In what is sometimes another form of adventure, I am happy standing in front of an audience of hundreds so long as I know what I want to say -- have done so before some pretty impressive people.
I would like to meet a woman with intelligence, independence, humor, and grace who doesn't feel constrained by convention (grew up around independent and well-educated women and consequently enjoy those who are unafraid to set their own course). While it would be fun to meet someone who has a similar sense of adventure, I'm not necessarily looking for one who has the same exercise habits nor one who cares about sports (growing up among educators, I rarely had to fight for the sports section). Also have been attracted to the arty and mischievous types.
Being a father is central to who I am, and one silver lining to the difficulty of divorce is that I'm probably closer to my girls than I would have been otherwise. This comes from their being with me half the time and my dealing with homework/friends/laundry/victories and challenges on a daily basis. Incidentally, I use my occasional zaniness as a threat to display it in public near my daughters. It's remarkable what the power of the possible embarassment can accomplish. With the importance of parenting in mind, I suspect that the woman I'll really connect with is also a parent and consequently knows the wonderful catastrophe of raising children.
So, the point regarding my runs with Louie? I don't know that I've found the answer yet. Am I looking for someone who's as obedient as my dog? No, I have no interest in deference at all. Am I looking for someone who, with time, will be so happy to see me that she'll come running with a big grin on her face? Perhaps, maybe, yes. And, if it's really the connection I'm hoping for, I'll be running toward her, just as fast with my ears back and tail wagging.

Date someone special from United States. I would have to describe myself as a confident, considerate, gentle, love to smile and laugh, kinda of guy. I have a very out going personality, but still prefer smaller settings, but feel very comfortable talking to anybody, but I don’t like the bar scene to meet people. I have recently started running again, lost over 15 lbs in about a month, good motivation to keep going!!!
On weekends, a prefect day would start with coffee and the newspaper out by the pool. Maybe some yard work to get the hands dirty, a dip in the pool to cool off, then a nice ride out into the country or mountains on the motorcycle or in the vette with the top off. I really like day trips topped off with a nice dinner, could be just sandwiches, crabs and beer by the pool, or dressing up for wine/beer and steak/seafood.
