Date a man from Walnut Creek, United States. I am a bright, sensitive, mature man, who is searching for a good woman for friendship, companionship, and yes...love.
Some things about me:
I grew up near Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived in the upper Midwest for 30 years.
I moved to Pittsburgh, PA. in 1983, attended graduate school there, and moved to the Bay area in 1992.
I've made my living as a College librarian since 1987.
I'm well-educated, well read, and consider myself to be an intellectual, but not in the pejorative sense of that word.
I like to be around people with whom I can have conversations that range wide...and can go deep.
Switching gears now:
I have a great sense of humor, and love to laugh...at myself, and the follies of Homo Sapiens.
I like to watch SNL (early shows from the 70's), Fawlty Towers (BBC), and most of Woody Allen's films.
Although I don't watch TV that much, I got totally "hooked" on: the Soprano's, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Madmen, Breaking Bad, and Damages.
I also watch LOTS of movies...nothing like eating dinner on TV trays while watching a good film!
I LOVE TO GOLF...try to play once-a-week...usually shoot in the high 70's...would love to have a female "golf buddy".
A few more things:
I love NATURE...especially the ocean...I love taking walks...love being in the desert under a full moon.
I love dogs and cats...very special creatures...cats are really Zen Masters in disguise!
Want to know more? Let's talk over some coffee or a drink!
Meet a soulmate from Walnut Creek, United States. That's actually a line that Rusty Staub, a baseball player, used in a TV commercial many years ago. While I liked the line, why anyone would respond to a name like “Rusty”, much less use it himself, is a mystery to me.
Although originally from the Midwest, I have lived in California since high school, splitting time between the northern and southern parts of the state. Since my numerous siblings and most of their even more numerous offspring live in the Bay Area, that's where I choose to live now. Growing up as one of the older children in a large family, I learned to be responsible and hard working. I am also intelligent, honest and considerate. I have a good sense of humor but I don't usually kid around with people unless I know them well enough to be comfortable with them. Because of that, people who don't know me well think that I am very serious and are surprised when they see the playful side of me. I have a tendency to be quiet in groups and would rather be part of the audience rather than part of the entertainment. For relaxation, I like reading and going to movies, to the theater or to museums. I also like outdoor activities including hiking and cycling. I used to play tennis regularly and would like to pick that up again.
I would like to meet someone who is intelligent, self confident, easy going and considerate. I would like her to be someone who takes care of herself physically and leads a basically healthy lifestyle. Sharing the same interests would be nice, but I believe that it is more important that we share the same values. Someone with an outgoing personality would be a good complement to me since I tend to be quiet.

Meet someone special from Walnut Creek, United States. I'm a man living in Walnut Creek. I practiced law for years, and still research timely and interesting issues. I am very nvolved in a few community and civic organizations.
I have been on the list of potential Jeopardy! contestants for several years. Hope they call me one of these days.
Date a man from United States. Oh, gosh this is awkward!!
Allow me to begin by saying what I do not do. I don't drink alcohol. I don't smoke. I don't visit bars or those kinds of places. I am not a "sports fan".
I do enjoy hiking and being surrounded by Nature. I do enjoy traveling - when I can. India is my favorite destination. Actually, when I do visit India I feel at "home".
I do my best to live a healthy life and being a vegetarian helps a lot. I do my best to practice kindness and not bring harm to others.
What am I doing here? Well . . .
I am seeking a companion for the remainder of this lifetime, to share responsibilities, high ideals and values, honesty, integrity, a very deep emotional connection, spirituality and spiritual activities. I am seeking someone who is stable and steady, financially responsible, enjoys traveling to India and possibly other parts of the world. Someone who enjoys nature. I feel so at peace when surrounded by trees, plants, flowers . . . sandy beach.
I am seeking a caring person (for self and others), sensitive, loving, striving for peace with themselves (the effort is what counts), someone who searches and sees the goodness in people even when faced with the not so good. Perhaps I am a little too idealistic here yet, I do feel that these qualities shared by two can truly make a difference.
Have you worked out some of the heaviness in your backpack?
Oh, I am not impressed by "things". Material things seem to come and go. Why hold on? That said, some things are important so that we might live comfortably. (e.g. car, house, clothing, etc)
I am not seeking a "date". If you are looking for just a date I don't think I am the guy for you. I truly don't know how to play that game. On the other hand, if you seek a true friend and are willing to see how a friendship might grow and unfold into a relationship and a life long experience well, . . . Let's start with "friends first".
Meet a soulmate from United States. My life seems busy to me as there never seems to be enough time to do everything I want to do. Dating fits in there somewhere, although I would make more time for it should I find that special lady. Friends say I'm too picky and as usual, they're right. High standards? Yup, I'm guilty of that. For now, I'm looking for someone who keeps herself healthy. I run and although it's not an absolute obsession with me, physical exercise is high up on my list of desirable qualities. And no, I"m not a complete health nut - chocolate has a way of making me weak! As well, I'd like someone who makes me laugh. I've been told that my sense of humor is one of my best traits - I don't tell jokes but I can find the humor in most anything.
Oh and one more thing. I'm dependable. You'll never complain about me forgetting an anniversary or being late to be somewhere. Your feelings and your time are important. A lot of people don't consider that a priority but I do.
You? She's got to be a responsible, pleasant, kind, and confident woman who likes kids and most of all, likes me. She is okay with us having our separate hobbies, but makes time for us to share as well. She knows that men are men and women are women. She knows that men can't really be changed just as I know that women like to be listened to. Gainfully employed or independently wealthy. Heiresses are good, without the Paris Hilton glam. And she has a sense of humor about herself and about life.
Date single man from United States. I am an easy going guy from blue collar background with some college experience, and a lot of real life experience and knowledge. I am comfortable in most environments whether at a football game, or at a benefit party with black tie. I like to laugh, and like being with people who like to laugh - because life is too short to not enjoy our time here. I also think we need to help others and be nice to other people while we are here.
I like the outdoor experiences, especially if it includes boats, the oceans or lakes, and fishing or just relaxing on the water. Camping is also one of my favorite ways to enjoy the weekends and the planet as it is meant to be, it also brings us back to the basics and we can be ourselves and loose the trappings of society.
I enjoy helping those who are less fortunate, (and there are a lot of people in that situation)...
