I have some artistic talent, and I love music. I like playing Guitar Hero, and I recently discovered the fun in having a cat! I like sports. I kayak and play tennis, and I like going to baseball games and watching sports movies. I ride my bike a lot.
I like cribbage and backgammon but suck at chess (my son tells me). I'm not squeamish about much, although sometimes a tangle of computer cables makes me hyperventilate (not really).
I teach English, but I swear on a stack of Harry Potter books that I will not correct your spelling. I have better things to do! (By the way, I do NOT equate good spelling with intelligence. I've known lots of people who are brilliant but can't spell their way out of a paper bag. [I don't get that expression... Who is ever IN a paper bag? How big would that bag have to be? And why would spelling words correctly get them out of the bag? That's just crazy talk.])
I don't need a controlling, pessimistic, selfish man... but who would admit to that? :) Instead, I would love to meet someone who has confidence and a sense of humor. It would be nice if social situations didn't make you suicidal. I have a great extended family about two hours away, and I try to see them often.
My kids are with me 50% of the time, and they are funny and smart. Their dad is a decent father, and our relationship is amicable, so don't worry about a lot of drama there! One of my pictures shows me with a baby, but she's a friend's kiddo that I was baby-sitting.
If you are loyal and faithful, if you are secure in who you are, if you can love unconditionally, if you like your own family, and if you don't view every relationship as doomed, then you are not my ex-husband! Yahoo!
I think my best attributes are these: I can sometimes make people laugh, I'm generous and thoughtful, I am completely faithful and never give up, I am organized and hard-working, I'm a good mother, and I'm a good listener. I am cheerful and optimistic 92.7% of the time, and I am not meant to be alone. I need someone to give back rubs to, stay up late talking to, attend concerts or games with, and laugh with.
Maybe I've been too honest or said too much, but you know, as I write this, it occurs to me that if the length of this narration throws you off, then we wouldn't get along anyway! I know how to be quiet, and I can appreciate silence, but I tend to err on the side of too much information rather than not enough... OMG, I also use ridiculous words like "err" and "egads" and "alas," so I'm a total geek, too.
