I'd prefer to figure out if we can be good friends before moving on to anything more complicated. I'm not sure I agree with that bit about chemistry being determined in the first 30 seconds. I guess sometimes it works that way, but the several long relationships I've had all took time to develop.

To be successful in love, I believe that each person has to understand what the other person needs, and not just focus on what they want to give or what they want to get. It’s a partnership. When you have that, just breathing the same air is a total joy.
I tend to jump into things 120% if they really grab me and have had many interests and passions over the years we can share: music, movies, figure skating, karate, camping, theater, flying, sailing, scuba diving, fencing, meditation, motor cycles, photography, tennis, golf, hiking, cycling.

I'm a new resident to the bay area but have made numerous visits here in the past so the surroundings here are not all new to me.
I've lived in Colorado these last 15 years but Tucson owns my childhood development.. I work in the semiconductor industry and moved here under the um... persuasive influence of my employer!
So now that I'm here I'm ready to mix and mingle with the indigenous tribes and make some new friends. Leaving Colorado overwhelmed me with emotion but I'm no stranger to life changes and I'm good at adapting to new surroundings.
I've been single since the date on my birth certificate which has allowed me to pursue adventurous careers early on in my youth and progress on to great travels later on in life. I have learned to enjoy my ability to make international travels. Hopefully this is something I can continue to pursue. I enjoy being active with outdoor activities such as skiing and riding mountain bikes.
I have a playful nature that likes to be entertained and you won't find me overly sensitive or tempermental. I'm good at communicating and taking advice. I tote along no baggage or issues from past relationships and would like to find those characteristics as well in a person for a long relationship. The qualities I'd like in a relationship would of course be the same as I mentioned about myself. Sensitive and thoughtful of the welfare of others is a must. The ability to show affection for children and pets proves the direction of your heart. Intelligent conversation with your awareness of community news and issues will keep me attentive.

The old adage about how one's attitude and outlook help to determine their outcome is really true, or at least it has been for me. Being a positive and happy person has blessed me with a GREAT life. It’s filled with family, lifelong friends, a dream job and lots of time & freedom to travel and pursue my passions.
My greatest joy is the time spent with friends and family, especially my youngest nephew. They all know me to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, dependable (yes, I was an Eagle Scout!) and with a sense of humor that always keeps things in their proper perspective. I always try to do what I say and say what I do- a straight shooter in more ways than you can imagine. I am serious about life, but don't take it too seriously. What's the point if you can't enjoy it, laugh and have fun?
So how can life get better? That’s where YOU come in. Are you a happy, positive person with a BIG heart, down to earth attitude and lots of energy? Are you looking to build a lasting relationship on the foundation of a strong friendship, open communication, mutual respect and the ability to have fun and enjoy each other's company? Speaking of which, I have lots of interests to share- creative, intellectual & physical, and some just plain fun and relaxing. Being a lifetime athlete, I continually stay active, fit & in shape with walking, spinning, road bicycling and competitive sports. As I lead a healthy, active lifestyle and am smoke, drug & STD free, I also desire these same qualities in a partner.
