Date a soulmate from California, United States. Honesty is everything to me, I'm hoping to find someone who takes care of themself and wants someone who does the same. Someone who cares about core values, respects a man who works hard and plays hard.
I like to do things that make someone happy. I hate negativity and my cup is always at least half full. I want to be around someone who feels the same way. I would like to be with someone who can be my best friend, my lover, my companion, all in one.
My sons are grown and out of college and on their own and I'm proud of both of them. They are two of my best friends.
I grew up on a ranch, raised horses and cattle at home, use to rodeo quite a lot, but anymore with the demands on your time of a modern society, I pretty much have adjusted to the immediate satisfaction of jumping on my Harley and going for a ride, going camping, hunting or fishing, or taking my jet ski to the lake. I will occasionally sky dive or scuba dive, or golf. I enjoy concerts in the park. I enjoy the ocean and live both in Half Moon Bay and Ukiah, However my office is in Cupertino. Some things I do yearly is travel to a family home in Montana,( would like to live there some day or maybe Idaho, I love the mountains) meet my sons in Idaho, go to Caba San Lucas, Maui, anyplace.
Traveled some, mostly the lower 48 and Alaska, some in Canada and Mexico and Tahit, Cozumel, Maui
I would like to find someone who makes me laugh, who likes adventure, and appreciates being with someone who takes pride in themselves and wants to enjoy life. Being physically fit is a must.
Also they have to be a happy person who cares about their personal appearance, and health. A positive attitude is a must. Life is too short to waste worrying about something that will probably not happen anyway.
Almost forgot, you have to like to hold hands, cuddle, hug, and kiss, let someone treat you like you're special. Lastly, I like a woman who can wear blue jeans and sneakers and a ball cap, as well as an elegant evening gown for a night out, and feel comfortable in both.
Reading this again reminds me, I love listening to a strong winter storm while cuddled up in front of a warm fire with a glass of wine, anywhere, the sound of winter is just as secure as the warmth of the sun.
I was raised as a gentleman and know how to treat a lady.
Meet single man from California, United States. Recently divorced after 31 years of marriage and want to enjoy a beautiful relationship. I have three beautiful daughters, all grown up now, and have been successful with my investments and career.
This feels very strange joining all of you, but at the same time I want to explore my potential with you.
Date someone special from California, United States. As you can see from the photos, I like to be around horses. I agree with Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan - "there is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man." Two outdoor activities I enjoy are horseback riding and kayaking because both provide a sense of adventure and sometimes awesome natural beauty that can't be seen any other way ("I came to a fork in the road, and took the path less traveled, and it made all the difference").
I am by nature optimistic, decisive, express confidence and have a clear idea of where I am headed.
I seek a woman who is thoughtful, playful, imaginative, romantic, and resourceful, who knows her own mind and where she would like to be.
How to describe myself? If lyrics and melodies from songs expressed my feelings, then these might describe the following situations: On when we meet - Enchanted (Taylor Swift), On getting to know you - Take Me There (Rascal Flatts), On the first kiss - Sweet and Wild (Dierks Bentley), How you feel about me - That's Where It Is (Carrie Underwood), How I feel about you - My Love Follows You Where You Go (Alison Krauss).
I think things work out best when the talents, interests and skills of a couple complement each other. I am happy to share with you everything I know, and look forward to learning from you and your experiences.
I have on occasion admired fine art in Museums, and appreciate fine craftsmanship and history. If this is an interest of yours, consider it an interest of mine.
I find myself at ease in fine attire and formal places and situations, but prefer blue jeans and a stetson. If you would like to dress up and go somewhere, I would be delighted to be at your side and the envy of every man in the room.
Meet men and women from California, United States. ... as in: I think so far outside of it. OK, its a rather obtuse reference, but they only allow so many characters in the title.
Before, you get too involved in this profile: I live aboard a 62 ft ketch (the longest I've lived anywhere, 19 yrs) and plan to retire on it someday (i.e., land-lubbers need not apply). Extra points if you know the difference between a yawl and a ketch. I enjoy the solitude of boat life and having the option to just chuck it all in and leave, but (as Carlin would say) still be able to bring all my s..[stuff] with me. People that live on boats, as opposed to those that just visit their boats on the weekend, tend to be quiet, confident, and slightly anti-social. We prefer to say "independent". We are not into the pursuit of material things since, if you buy something new, you have to throw something old away. Only so much will fit on a boat.
Yes I'm divorced, she had the mid-life crisis and traded me in for two 20's many years ago, the boat came much later and had nothing to do with the divorce.
Now for the usual:
I enjoy kayaking (own my own), nature photography (finally went digital), movies (don't own a functional TV, I just rent DVDs). I favor function over form. I am an entrepreneur/scientist/engineer. I've had the good fortune to "write the book" on new discoveries several times in my career and in several different scientific disciplines. I'm still involved in the third (my 10 year old start-up), the fourth is closing in on funding now (a person's always go to have a backup plan), and a fifth is now in progress. Does it ever end?
I try to shop in Chinatown and at ethnic markets as often as possible, and always pick up something new to experience. Ever had Chinese Hash Browns (stir fried taro root, onions, garlic, mushrooms, with Hoisin sauce), asparagus soup spiced with habanero chilies, very dark chocolate infused with five spice powder and orange zest? These are some of my favorite creations. I obviously enjoy cooking (chinese, thai, mexican, middle eastern or something in between or even outside the box). I heartily agree that chocolate (the higher the coco solids the better) is its own food group and am man enough to admit it. I also eat quiche. While I do have several cookbooks, gifts from well-intentioned friends, they are quite dusty and tend to creak when you open them. While my diet is mostly vegetarian, its not a religious thing. I will eat anything prepared well.
Things I've never done and always wanted to do: visit Macho Picchu and other early American ruins (just returned from Belize), peer down into an active volcano from its rim (e.g., Yasur in Vanuatu), trek New Zealand's South Island, fly an ultra-light, dive the Greek and Turkish ruins off their respective coasts, and kayak down the upper Missouri river, swim with the whale sharks off the Galapagos. Things I'd like to do again: dive the Great Barrier Reef, a bareboat charter anywhere tropical far from the madding crowds (perhaps Tonga), revisit the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan Islands, and Monument Valley in winter.
I hate the gym, but do find the time anyway. Just what year are those endorphins supposed to kick in?
