Date single man from California, United States. Thank you for reading my profile!
Why don't you sit right down here for a minute on this virtual cushion (pat, pat, pat) and let's have a nice chat.
As you can see from my photos, I may no longer be a poule de printemps but I'm nowhere near my sell-by date. I'm tall, well-educated, well-groomed and I have no insufferable habits that would make you want to just scream. I have a very pleasant and kind disposition but being born and raised in New York, you know there's always going to be an edge. I am never smarmy.
I'm in good shape and physically very active.
I like to talk, even concerning things I don't know anything about. There's a certain talent there, but I've never quite managed to turn that into a huge profit.
I'm still working, happily, for myself as I've always done since my 20s. I just couldn't find a career on the rack as a young man that fit me, so I made up my own. I wear a lot of hats but I have only one head. Some men might fail to mention that but I believe in being very honest.
Although I was raised as a city boy, and will always be comfortable in the metropolis, as I've matured I've taken more to country life. I even have a garden, for gawd's sake. And here I thought that all vegetables grew in shrink wrap and all insects were roaches. I'm stunned with my newly acquired talents.
In terms of “what I'm looking for”, there's no set pattern here but like most of you out there, it would be great to share experiences and travel with someone you're just a little, or a lot, ga-ga over. I like my women strong and my tea weak. If you've taken good care of yourself, or tried to, as I have, we'd probably be a better match.
I'm young at heart, too, so I know what's going on in the world, with tech, etc. and have friends of all ages.
Best of all, I'm fun. “Beware the man who cannot laugh at himself.” (that's from my mom when she beat me in poker).
PS: Please be wonderful
FAQ DEPARTMENT:
Q: How come you were never formally married?
A: I forgot.
Q: Would you date me if I were a conservative?
A: If you were a fiscal conservative, yes, definitely. If you were a social conservative, do NOT press the “send” button.
Q: Do you believe in a Supreme Being?
A: No, but I do miss him. But if you do, go for it. By the time either of us finds the answer to that, we probably won't be dating anymore.
Q: Are you the artistic type or the rational type?
A: Balanced. I can do both pretty well. Inventive would be a good word for me.
Q: Do you like to dance?
A: Meh...not really, but you can dance for me (zowie!)
Q: Who is your favorite artist?
A: Van Gogh, but not so much the part about his ear and the hooker and trying to stab Gauguin and stuff.
Q: Have you met anyone on match?
A: Yes, some wonderful people! Dated one for a year but she was actually in love with her cat, come to find out. I was a fool not to see it.
Meet a man from California, United States. Gosh, where to start. I usually make a couple of trips to the back country of Idaho every summer in a taildragger airplane that I have. You can be as much as 75 miles from the nearest road or civilation. Much wildlife, nature, and yes, the sound of coyotes as youn fall to sleep. I also just returned from an airplane trip to the midwest to see old college freind
I have been retired from my dental profession for about 8 yrs, but have had a real-estate profession since then. I have a deeply engrained work ethic from the good old mid-west. BUT I want to slow down and enjoy my life and the things that I like to do.
No silver spoon here. My father died when I was 3 yrs old. My mother had 3 boys in 1946 with no father to help take care of them. I worked my way through college and dental school and had every loan available. Hence my can do and conservative nature.
Enough of me.
What about you? Do you like nature, wildlife, antiques, flying, gardening, home designing, or a glass of wine on a beautiful quiet evening being outside, or by a fire inside in the wintertime.
Date a soulmate from California, United States. I used to be more athletic but my long walks and sports are seemingly a thing of the past. My brain still works pretty good. I am still working at the law with some very rewarding work for a service disabled veterans group. Serving good causes is important. My most satisfying accomplishment was starting a high school age soccer club for recreational players. Before this the club stopped at 14. I helped extend it to 19. I coached a girls team which was both satisfying and educational for me.
Family is very important to me. I have four children from two marriages and try to speak with them all at least once a week . I moved to Sonoma 5 years ago. It seemed awfully small at first but I find small towns have their own charm. Biggest change is the sense of time. Sonoma tends to measure time in seasons rather than hours or minutes as does the city.
Since moving to Sonoma I have learned much about wine and even more about cheese. Also learned there are too many good bakeries for my health. The restaurants are good with lots of variety. Nothing quite as good as reading a book on the patio at the Swiss Hotel with a glass of white wine and calamari with Jean, the best waitress ever.
Love all kids of music from Verdi to Hank Williams, not HW, Jr. Love jazz, mostly BeBop with Sonny Rollins and Miles Davis. Big band jazz and trios and everything in between.
My most passionate music love is opera. And San Francisco has a great opera. A good dinner near Civic Center and a wonderful opera. Doesn't get much better. Don't get to go as often as I would like. Opera is something I feelnI have to do with someone else.
I tend to like sharing simple things Nothing better than talking about books we've read or going to the movies. Looking to meet a woman who I can share a baseball game, the opera, and maybe a jazz club. Most important might be not doing much. Wine tasting followed by dinner so we can drink the good wine we found. Either go out to a restaurant or cook at home. Sharing the cooking can be fun. Simple as pasta with a great sauce or as complicated as duck with cherry sauce.
Not sure how to describe myself. I have a good sense of humor. I am interested in learning more about how people think. I have been accued of "thinking about thinking" and enjoy learning about different cultures and how different cultures and religions deal with those big elusive concepts of life. Have read some philosophy but not so much now. Reading history of Civil War as this is 150th anniverary.;Want to go to Gettysburg and Vicksburg. Want to stand where Chamberlin ordered the 20th Maine to charge.
Not religious. I am very tolerant of other people's beliefs but basically an atheist who believes there is an energy that maintains and powers our universe, and all the universes beyond.
Meet someone special from California, United States. Just a basic man interested in life, health and the pursuit of a fine woman. I enjoy quiet times the mountains working out and being successful at my profession. I would be fortunate to find a lady who loves life is confident in who she is, is uninhibited and does not have to much baggage. (I acknowledge we all have some)
