I am a University Professor (Psychology) and also the author of several books (including two back-shelf best sellers) as well as many scientific articles. I also make some public appearances and regularly contribute to various popular periodicals and national magazines. My work deals primarily with everyday moods and apparently is of considerable interest to the general public, especially in this time of wide concern about health, exercise, diet and the importance to mood. This is especially true of anxiety and depression, conditions afflicting many people nowadays.
I greatly enjoy my college teaching, and I have been fortunate to teach interesting psychology subjects. (It is great fun and I get positive student evaluations. As for why it is so pleasurable, where else does one have the regular opportunity to lecture to intelligent young people who listen attentively, write down what you say and at least pretend to believe it?) Basically, I love my occupation and it is a central part of my life.
I am financially comfortable (e.g., own a house in Seal Beach with no mortgage). I enjoy travel but recently have not had a regular companion to enjoy interesting places with me. But I should say that at this time in my life, I especially like comfortable travel. (As my daughter told me: Dad, you are the kind of man who would really enjoy seeing the rain forests, but you would want to see them from a 5-star hotel.) I enjoy regular daily exercise, biking around town, movies, and poker, but the latter is only as an intermittent hobby.
In an ideal sense, the kind of woman I would like should be playful and fun to be with, would have high consciousness, be intelligent, and be physically attractive. Also an athletic and toned body type would be good, without much overweight. A certain amount of sexiness also would be desirable. But these are ideals and my potential companion is not 20 years old any more, so I merely expect she would have a lifetime of experience that would yield many possibilities for the two of us to compliment each other.
