Date men and women from United States / California / San Francisco, 40 year old - page 2

Date someone special from United States. One thing that I’m having a hard time is describing myself and what I like all in one paragraph, but here it goes. I like long walks on the beach… Well, ok. Seriously! I live and work in San Francisco.. I love to travel and would take any opportunity to do so. I’ve lived in Spain for a while, but I ended up coming back to focus on my career. I’m a very mellow guy, but I can also let lose if I want to. I love meeting new people and making new friends, but deep down my core group of friends come first along with my family.
I would like to meet a girl, who is honest, smart, sweet, adventurous and interesting who can share the same ideas, thoughts and interests that I have.
Let's see where this goes..
~ R

Meet a soulmate from United States. After commuting from San Diego for an extended period of time, I landed full time here in San Francisco just over 2 years ago. I would like to meet someone to explore the City and the Bay Area and enjoy what they have to offer.
Honesty, loyalty, and a strong sense of humor are important characteristics. Being active, intelligent, successful, and attractive won't hurt the dynamics. I value my relationships with family and friends and I am looking forward to meeting someone with similar interests and goals.

Date single man from United States. I am looking for a partner in (mostly legal) crime. Someone to share adventures as well as the more mundane corners of life.
I am a super-nice guy. But I reserve the right to get crazy, and I exercise that right enough. I like to ask questions more than talk. One of my clients told me recently that I am really prompt.
Speaking of work, I work in IT at a small company in North Beach. For the past four years, I've volunteered at an after-school program to help build a computer lab to provide technology access to at-risk youths.
I’ve made films. I helped create this feature-length documentary - It’s on the festival circuit now.
I have visited 15 countries and plan to go to many more. When I got my current passport nine years, my goal was to fill it cover-to-cover with stamps. Didn’t quite make it, but I definitely cultivated some memorable moments abroad: Europe during World Cup 2010, jungle hike in Malaysian rain forest followed by pan-fried noodles with frog, being detained by Uzbek militsia (police) for taking photos of the presidential palace.
Earlier this year I was on the road for three weeks on a southern states tour through Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, ad Tennessee.
I love hearty food, and lots of it. Dim sum and fried chicken are my favorites, although there are many contenders for runners up. My friend and former roommate used to make fun of me because I would eat two or three dinners a night. But, my friends are envious that my slender figure defies my voracious appetite.
I'm seeking a partner in crime to accompany me for great meals, trips out of town, panel discussions about cerebrally engaging topics, plays, movies and the lazy Sunday in.
Wanna join?

Meet a man from United States. I am a financial professional, comfortable and happy with who and where I am, but interested in continuing to grow and explore, and find it rewarding to share life's experiences. Keeping fit and physically/mentally challenged is a big part of the week; Enjoying time with family and friends is the goal for the weekend and spare time during the week. I am interested in meeting someone that is a natural fit for me - happy, healthy and enjoys their life and the people in it; Someone who relates to me, is sexy and compassionate, and is challenging without being antagonistic. Life should be fun, exciting and constantly evolving in a positive direction - the right person can only amplify that experience.

Date people from United States. Laughing, playing, working and creating are my favorite things to do, I love to travel and go hiking, car camping on the weekends is a great way to spend time but my weekends have not fallen on a Saturday or Sunday in quite a while. I love gallery openings, graffiti, low brow art, urban art, street art... New Era fitted caps, skateboards, hoodies, motorcycles and classic cars. I recently had to sell my 1971 Chevy Pickup, I am still feeling it from that loss.
Life has treated me well, I have traveled to 15 countries on 5 continents. I grew up in Western New York, lived in Colorado, Antarctica and now San Francisco. I must say that I have always enjoyed the journey and I have been able to make many friends along the way. Israel and New Zealand have been my favorite places to visit but Ireland and Amsterdam are very close to the top of that list. Living in San Francisco has been a great experience, one that sometimes fills my need to travel and adventure, this is the best city in the United States. I love diversity, culture and new experiences.
I am hoping to meet someone that loves adventure, someone that understand being spontaneous and planning for the future are two different things. A person that feels the same way I do, laughing is a priority in life, there is something funny in almost every situation even when it can seem so sad and depressing. The bright side! A long way from the Dark Side it is!

Meet men and women from United States. Living life out here in the fog of the Richmond district. One of the few, it seems, who actually likes it - never been one for the heat and humidity (too many years existing at Northern Latitudes). It does make for solid running weather, though I don't purport to an unalterable exercise regimen. Nonetheless, the view from Land's End at night helps provide motivation if it's lacking due to the day's events.
Like anyone else on this site I am simply interested in meeting some new or interesting people. I am originally from Chicago, and have also lived in Michigan, Seattle, Florida and Sweden (do you speak Swedish? so difficult to find native speakers). However, San Francisco has proven to be quite the place to domicile, as you can't go wrong with the mix of outdoor activities and urban amenities.
I have made quite a few friends and acquaintances throughout the years and still enjoy meeting new people - I am very social, yet am always after a good conversation; I take life seriously, but usually that requires laughing at it or myself (likely the latter).

Date someone special from San Francisco, United States. Active, confident, healthy, intellectual, passionate, sociable, kind, irreverent..My friends tend to describe me as a magnanimous soul that lives life to the fullest, with a bit of an adventurous, experimental streak, preferring to learn by doing and living a life less ordinary. Sidewalks are for wimps. I'm ambitious professionally but try not to let it define me (though who can't get excited about lobbying on behalf of a solar company). For fun, I'm either climbing rocks, road riding, playing tennis, taking in an art exhibit or talking nonsense for hours around a table of good food and drink. I like to surround myself with people that give a damn, can challenge and inspire me, have depth and passion yet are self-deprecating and friggin funny.
I'm looking for my complement, of course; someone who is committed to life-long learning, growth and exploration (by foot or plane!), is a great conversationalist, can serve up witty banter, can challenge me, who is adaptable to almost any situation, values family and relationships and who can get down and boogie! (Full disclosure, I prefer to date Asians but I don't have yellow fever; cultural alignment is important to me.)

Meet a soulmate from San Francisco, United States. hi...
Look for me on ok Cupid. Same handle. Not currently on here. Thanks.
one of the things i loved about my grandfather was the authenticity with which he'd say good morning.
never sounded rote.
or disingenuous.
that's pretty cool.
seems to me a special thing to enjoy the moment, to be fully present to another person and to yourself.
i consider myself a nice guy, with a strong intellect and a decent sense of humor.
like many of you, i am equally comfortable splitting wood in jeans and a flannel as i am attending a swanky opening in a little black dress and heels.
oh.
um.
wait.
well - that's what i mean by a decent sense of humor.
i value and have deep relationships with friends but don't come by them very easily or often.
among the simple things i enjoy...small dinner gatherings, the stillness of dawn and dusk, grocery shopping and preparing a meal for others, the joy of dogs, a weekend road trip, farmers markets, random art, the first cup of coffee, time with family, a good workout, google sketch-up, op-eds.
i'd be excited to share those things with someone.
but not only the simple things.
big adventures. grand ideas. bold plans. amazing trips.
i love to learn, question and wonder. in spite of my occasional sarcasm i'm attracted to genuine kindness.
though i rarely watch them, sappy movies, extreme makeover home edition and biggest loser can get me.
being active is important – running, biking, hiking - and being outdoors.
i've spent a good amount of time overseas and still enjoy traveling, both in the states and abroad.
yet i have admiration for small towns, strong roots and community.
about the you of my imagination...you are kind. comfortable with yourself. you can make others laugh and chuckle at yourself. you're curious. you have an adventurous spirit and want to explore. you're generally optimistic and give others the benefit of the doubt. you've got a sharp mind. you know who you are and yet you're open to who you can become.
we feel real, mutual, gut-felt attraction toward each other.
what do you reckon...?

Date single man from San Francisco, United States. Quietly confident, witty, humble, sharp, playful, and affectionate; and, looking for a classy (with a dash of sassy) partner in crime -- someone with whom to giggle over the inevitable absurdities of life; get completely lost in the moment; enjoy a guilty pleasure (or 10) daily; appreciate the subtleties and quiet moments; and, most importantly, smile, because life is better that way.
A few misc facts / comments / insights about me that could help you gain a better sense:
-- If I had a personal theme song following me around, it would have to be a killer mashup -- maybe something like "Dec 4th, Oh What A Night" (Jay-Z/Four Seasons)?!?
-- LOVES: cool, crisp, clear, sunny days; RV cupcakes; a perfect-fitting suit; my girls; flyovers after the national anthem; a woman that can strut in heels; Tides Zihuatanejo; college basketball; driving over the GGB, sunroof/windows opened, music blaring; David Hockney; playful, flirtatious exchanges; and, non-PC humor, among a million others;
-- I can take it as well as I dish it, and I can find humor in almost anyone (esp myself), over almost anything, at almost anytime.
-- I grew up on the west side of Los Angeles and return frequently, but still can't decide whether it's Heaven or Hell (which is why I've lived in SF for so long);
-- I'm analytical by nature, but am completely comfortable following my heart/gut because I trust my instincts unhesitatingly;
-- Few people suspect that I have a tattoo - and even fewer would know that it still makes me smile after so many years (and even fewer care either way - I realize that);
-- I'm fairly tech savvy, yet am the first to speed-dial a handyman because I know my limits;
-- I could people-watch at the Ferry Plaza all day, every day;
-- PB M&Ms or Reese's PB Cups? Yes, please;
-- Ummmmm... what's with all the profile photos of women doing back bends?!?!?;
-- I'm an award-winning dad (if awards were given) to three girlies -- 10, 8, and 6;
-- Taking a professional breather at the moment, following an acquisition of my last company and a meaningful career on Wall Street (from which I walked away when I felt that the egos, the arrogance, and the schedule/hours outweighed the potential upside);
-- I, along with seemingly every other person here, love to travel and have done so fairly extensively; so rather than list my favs, I'd rather list my can't-wait-to-get-theres: India, Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia, Singapore, New Zealand, Southern Africa, Ireland, Buenos Aires, and the Galapagos;
-- I have so much to give -- are you ready to accept it? Reciprocate?;
Now it's your turn - if something intrigues you about my profile, I'd love to hear from you. After all, you've made it this far, so don't get shy now!

Meet a man from San Francisco, United States. I am happy, friendly, honest, adventurous, romantic and very easy going. That's a lot of stuff but that's what you will see... I enjoy great conversation and long nights over too many bottles of wine and long Sunday's biking around San Francisco dropping into anything that looks interesting. I've definitely got some proud Geek in me but doesn't eveyone in the Bay?
I've traveled a lot and maintain an ever dwindling top 10 list of places to visit. I absolutely love immersing myself in other cultures.
I work hard and enjoy my career but certainly not defined by it. I enjoy my leisure time to the fullest from relaxing at home to painting the town...
I wake up happy every single day (chemical imbalance? )
My match is drama free, sincere, funny, adventurous, can communicate openly, prone to random laughter, hard working, and good at being herself (for better or worse). If you like to travel, learn new languages and have a bit of a world view then we'll have plenty to chat about.
I'm looking for someone who can be both a friend and soulmate. Witty, cerebral, and a open minded go a long way. I tend to be a person that gets along with everyone.

Date people from San Francisco, United States. In the interest of full disclosure, let's get this out of the way: I never quite learned to ride a bike and I can't grow a full beard, so if you're into bearded bikers, I might not be your guy. I suppose for the right woman I could grow a goatee and putter around on a tricycle, but you'd really have to be someone special to justify that.
Perhaps you've noticed the Match feature which suggests profiles similar to the profile of the person that you just emailed. Regardless of whether you find me interesting, I encourage you to try the following experiment: email yourself, and see which profiles Match considers similar to your own. At one point, the Match.com algorithm had determined that I am most similar to a construction worker from Frankfurt, Indiana who likes to read fishing magazines. One other thing-when you email yourself, give yourself a nice compliment. You know you deserve it. Hey, why not "favorite" yourself, too? It might be good for your self-esteem.
I'm looking for someone who can make a long car ride go by quickly. Relevant skills include the ability to carry on long, convoluted debates on a wide variety of topics, the ability to tell good stories, and the ability to maintain comfortable silences.
Please make note of the carefully chosen upper height limit. I can look back fondly on several long, meaningful relationships with women between 6'6 and 7'2, but there was this one woman I dated who was 7'4, and while she was very sweet, it ended up being a little awkward. I'm so glad Match allows height cutoffs ranging up to 8'11- that's the kind of attention to detail that makes this such a fine service.
One more thing: I'm glad that so many of you say that you're the type of woman who doesn't take a long time to get ready to go out at night. That's good to hear. I like the type of woman who can just throw on one high heel and one hiking boot and be ready for a night on the town. Is that too much to ask?

Meet men and women from San Francisco, United States. Rather than yammer on, I'll just leave you with the lyrics of a Springsteen song that creates an image in my mind of what I'm looking for. One thing I must say, though. If your profile has more pictures of your pets and sunrises/landscpes than it does of you, I'm probably not your guy.
We said we'd walk together baby come what may.
That come the twilight should we lose our way.
If as we're walkin' a hand should slip free,
I'll wait for you,
And should I fall behind
Wait for me.
We swore we'd travel darlin' side by side.
We'd help each other stay in stride,
But each lover's steps fall so differently.
But I'll wait for you,
And if I should fall behind,
Wait for me.
Now everyone dreams of a love lasting and true,
But you and I know what this world can do.
So let's make our steps clear that the other may see,
And I'll wait for you
If I should fall behind
Wait for me.
