Date a soulmate from California, United States. This is the part where I'm supposed to dazzle you with how special I am right? I just consider myself a fairly regular guy, with some quirks. I put myself thru school w/o any loans or financial assistance whatsoever, I have a longterm, stable career where I worked my way up from the bottom and have been with for the same outfit for over 20yrs. I live a nice life and take care of myself 100%, look after my parents as they get older and spend time with my family when our schedules permit. I am divorced although after being dirvorced for over 12yrs it hate having to say it....it just doesn't seem to apply anymore. I have no kids, and no ties with the ex at all. It's ancient history, which is why it seems weird to even have to mention it, but no need to hide it either.
What am I looking for you may ask? Well someone alot like myself. Someone who is single, not recently divorced or out of a relationship. You have a job and a brain and a bank account that isn't always empty. Someone who is not a mindless slave to mainstream media or to popular fads. Someone who has their own classic style and doesn't follow the crowd. Someone who has spent some serious time and invested serious effort in really getting to know and understand themselves. Someone who is curious, inquisitive, a seeker of truth who is not afraid to ask questions and question "authority". Someone who doesn't have children and likely doesn't want any. Someone who is a traveler and adventurer. Someone who is confident enough to have faced the world alone just to prove to themselves they can, and just doesn't want to do everything alone anymore. You are spiritual, but not dogmatically religious. Someone who, as a seeker of truth, has studied and explored many philosophies and has been able to find the deeper truths in them all and fashioned a personal belief system which fits them and then lives by it because it is "their truth". Someone who is physically active and finds mind-numbing things like "reality TV" abhorent. Someone who is phyiscially expressive and passionate and understands what it means to genuinely "give". Someone whose needs are simple and few, but none-the-less important and worthy of having met. Someone who's life is simple, relaxing, fun and meaningful. Somone who is basically conservative in their beliefs and social values. Someone who is a doer not a spectator. Someone who is in touch with reality and lives by a moto of "personal responsibility". Someone whose schedule allows them some freedom to play and travel on a regular basis.. As a woman you've embraced your feminitity and appreciate a man who embraces true masculinity. And to top it all off comes wrapped in a physically appealing package with a smile that will light up a dark room.
I know the person a seek is rare, like an endangered animal, but not mythical like a unicorn. This isn't the only place I look, I like to meet people mostly in daily life, can't hurt to put it into words and put the energy out there and see what comes back. Please do be fairly local as well, I'm not interested in long distance, my life is here for the foreseeable future.
Some people say: 'If I could go back and be 20 knowing what I know now..." Well, who says we cant, in our own sorta way? Travel, adventure, passion, excitement? Shouldnt those all be better, easier and more fulfilling when you're 40 (well me anyway, you can be younger...LOL), and single, with the time and resources to do all those things you've dreamed of?
I have done enough of the social exercise of 'casual dating" and am ready to move past that the good stuff.. Someone I can look forward to seeing or talking to everyday, make plans with, fall asleep next to, and experience the things you can only experience in a good relationship. I am seeking "synergy", the combining of energies which results in something greater than the sum of its parts.

To describe my profile name as "univeralman73", I would like to think that since I'd rather do it myself. And don't like having other people, or contractors, do what I can do just as well, or better! Not trying to toot my own horn, I just do most of my own home remodeling, automotive work, or anything that requires building/designing. Really enjoy fabricating just about anything that, I or anyone, thinks of. I recently wrote an article for an industry magazing on the service truck body that I developed and built. That would be the creative side of myself. With an imagination, there is no limits to what you can create.
