Date single man from United States. I'm a guidance & control analyst doing autopilot design for helicopter drones... I love my job and have, in fact, made a hobby of it... flying r/c helicopters and designing electronic stabilization systems in my spare time. I've moved around a lot having lived in NY, GA, SC, NC, AZ, AL, (almost Hawaii) and now CA. I'm just looking to meet someone outside my field to go out with.. I'm not looking for a triathlon partner, someone to travel the world with, etc... just someone whose company I'd enjoy no matter where we were together... staying at home, watching TV, on vacation, etc... someone with a cute & playful personality... loves animals... and is always honest & open. Communicativeness is one of the most important qualities to me... as I couldn't imagine a relationship without it... I've had some horrid dates on this site, but am still hopeful to meet someone sincere... If you feel you can relate at all... would love to hear from you...

Meet people from United States. Let's face it. Physical attraction is important, but we're often hesitant to openly admit it in fear of sounding too superficial or shallow. We all hope there's someone out there that we're compatible with, but we're reluctant to reveal who we are, in fear we wont make a good impression or we'll come off as too extreme and scare that person off.
This is far from a literary master piece. But maybe something that will give you a little more insight into me. Hopefully this lands somewhere between a Shel Silverstein children's book and Eckart Tolle's book of spiritual enlightenment. Give it a read. There's more to share. I grew up in Del Mar
It's was a small, intimate, relaxed beach town. Nothing like it is today. It had everything I liked: simplicity, beauty and charm.
My camera is a Nikon D70
I love photographing landscapes, objects, textures, whatever catches my eye. I don't consider my self a photographer or an artist. It's just something I enjoy doing. Lately my iPhone has been my camera of choice. It simple and easy to use, and the apps can make an average photo look like it was taken by a pro.
I see photography
As a way to capture and preserve the beauty of a moment. I love taking photos, but I never felt an overwhelming desire and need to be in my photos. I see myself everyday in the mirror. I suppose it's only a problem as it relates to building a match profile.
I love excellence
Not to be confused with perfection. I'm imperfect in a lot of ways. But that doesn't stop me for striving for excellence in everything I do. The Four Agreements by Miguel Angel Ruiz are great rules to live by.
I listen to music when I work
I think music helps evoke emotion and inspires creativity. I like a variety of different types of music. It depends on the day and the mood. Alternative, hip hop, classic, worldbeat, flamenco, all have their place. Country should be outlawed.
To relax
I love to do a variety of things. Reading the WSJ or a good book. Go for a long early morning run or walk along the beach. Go for a morning surf. Ski the backcountry. Practice yoga. These enable me to find the peace of stillness. I also enjoy using my hands. Home improvement projects.
I believe in
Old fashioned values. It's not just about opening the door for someone, saying "please" and "thank you", never interrupting someone when they are speaking, etc. It's about... Leading by example. Having integrity. Being honest. Encouraging respect. Being fair. Family. Having empathy for others. Simply put, it's about having character. I also believe it's important to find enjoyment and have fun in whatever it is you are doing.
It's a treat to
Travel and explore new and undiscovered places. The one thing I've learned is that traveling has an immense power to change our perspectives on life. When you spend a good deal of time experiencing or living in another country, you can’t help but expose yourself to a wild array of perspective altering things that can change and expand your entire view of life and the world. I prefer to travel to off the beaten path destinations. Contrary to popular belief the U.S. isn't the center of the universe. Lemonheads are.
Cooking is like
Making a model. If you use fresh, organic ingredients and can follow directions you can usually can't go wrong. But it takes commitment and experience to make it an art form. I'm not there yet.

Date a soulmate from United States. Time to update: I've been told what I put here is too brief so let me try again. So, why am I here (seems to be the most common question). I imagine like the majority... I'm over the bar scene and while I am very interested in finding someone for a serious relationship, I don't have the time to hang out in clubs and bars like I did in my 20's. I do enjoy going out... but with friends. I like dining out, going out for a glass of wine, the movies, sport events... generally a social person. But I'm not there to try and meet someone so giving this a try.
What else? I love traveling and have been all over the world. I'm active and enjoy surfing, skiing/boarding (probably not this season), kayaking and squash to name a few.
So, what more can I say? Plenty. But how about doing it over the phone or over coffee/lunch. Seriously, I'm not one for exchanging countless emails or doing online chat. Let's not waste each others time. You've seen my pictures and if you think there might be some interest, let's meet and see.
