I am fortunate to live in a lovely home in the idyllic Central California wine region. I do a fair amount of wine tasting with friends since our region is well known for its wineries and red wines, primarily Zinfandel and Syrah (I'm a great tour guide!). I also have a passion for computers, digital photography, graphic design and desktop publishing. I'm not opposed to getting my hands dirty, taking on a large project, or fixing things (I became pretty good at using a wet saw and recently installed a new kitchen faucet).
I enjoy being creative, and I recently hosted a brunch for the ladies in my neighborhood complete with customized invitations using my photography, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, artistic napkin folding, and depression-era glassware and flatware. I take photos for pleasure as artwork, but I also get paid to take photos of judges, attorneys, and legal events. I am currently on my third DSLR, Canon being my favorite.
I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology (but never used due to back problems...maybe too much intercollegiate tennis!). I have lived in San Luis Obispo for 12 years and have lived another 18 years in Paso Robles. I love the Central Coast!
I am currently single and previously worked for an attorney in San Luis Obispo specializing in intellectual property, estate planning, and probate (I was her assistant for 7 years). I currently do some temp work in law firms (have an upcoming 3-week job in a criminal law firm this September), but I'm also a mobile notary, and the publisher/in-house photographer for the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association. I regularly attend legal events in the community in order to obtain photographs for the bi-monthly 36-44 page publication I design with a subscription base of 500-800. I've also been photographing Cal Poly tennis and design weekly e-mails for Tennis Connect slo for the last two years. I am the company's Administrative Assistant on the Board of Directors. My duties and responsibilities are varied, but it's challenging and satisfying...from would-be P.E. teacher to legal assistant, publisher, photographer, and notary! What an interesting and surprising world.
I have two grown children (24 and 27). One is married to a darling young man, and they have produced two lovely sons ages 3 and 7 months. I enjoy hiking, picnicking, travel here and abroad, and a variety of outdoor activities, but I also love attending special events including musicals, plays, choirs, concerts, wine dinners, ethnic restaurants, etc. A quiet evening watching a movie is therapeutic at times, and summer concerts in the park are absolutely wonderful!
