Date men and women from California, United States. I'm just trying to live the dream. I think right now I'm generally succeeding...but I could use a partner in crime!
I'm from Ohio originally, spent some time in Virginia for undergrad... now I'm out here checking out what the West Coast is all about. So far I really haven't found much to complain about in the land of 70/sunny, surfing and taco effin' Tuesday. Right now I'm working on my Ph.D. in earthquake engineering at UCSD. Then its on to designing buildings and one day teaching others how to save the world from earthquakes.
When I'm not pretending to enjoy my research I like to stay as active as possible, and spend as much time as possible outdoors! My current obsessions include rock climbing (I try to go to the gym 3 or 4 nights a week), surfing (whenever the waves are good), hiking and backpacking.
My demands are simple. I'm looking for someone who is smart, funny, and whose perfect Saturday sounds something like this:
Waking up early and driving out to the desert for an all-day hike.
Rocking out the entire ride (with the top down of course).
Running out of water and potentially getting lost (but finding our way back eventually).
Laughing about getting lost and rocking out the entire ride home.
Taking a quick shower and getting 'dressed up' (a relative term here).
Dinner and wine.
Getting up on Sunday and doing it all again.

SOmeone who can take in the beauty around, make it more beautiful if possible and enjoy life. Who knows what is going to happen tomorrow, so lets not waste this evening :)
Date single boy from California, United States. New to San Diego and am thinking I'll enjoy it.
I grew up in the twin cities area of Minnesota, which is where I went to college as well. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and anything dealing with it. Travel is also at the top of my list of favorites, which should work well with my new job.
Meet someone special from California, United States. My name is Mike and I am originally from Las Vegas. I came out to San Diego for college and now I can't imagine leaving. I'm a very friendly, easy-going guy and I love meeting new people. I enjoy traveling, and like to head up to Big Bear or try somewhere new on the weekends. Basically I'm looking for a girl who enjoys life and wants to check out all the fun things it has to offer with me. I like to go to concerts, try new restaurants, and am a pretty big movie buff. Feel free to send me a message if you want to know more.
Date people from California, United States. I'm originally from the midwest and still definitely miss my family out here in SD. Iowa will forever be my favorite state. I absolutely love to laugh and love finding humor in awkward situations. I love to eat to the point it is almost a passion of mine. I like working out and just recently got into running and boxing! I'm currently working on my PhD in biochemistry at UCSD and am looking to have some fun!
Meet a girl from California, United States. Hi there, and thanks for clicking on my profile. I find that when most people describe themselves with a few adjectives, they are either very generic or very inaccurate, so I'm kind of afraid to even attempt to, but I'd LIKE to think that I'm kind, smart, sincere and affectionate. I love to laugh and make other people laugh (even if it's at my expense). I'm also a little neurotic, but I think that has actually served me well in life - I've always been a hard worker and I put a lot of thought into what I do and how I live (it also makes for some good blogging). I feel like I'm at the point where this nice little life I'm building for myself is finally starting to take shape, and I just want a partner in it - hopefully with his own lovely little half-baked life that I can weave in with mine.
A little bit more about my background - I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA. I stayed in the Bay Area for college, then lived in New York City for a year and then ended up in San Diego for med school. I'm in my 4rd year now and despite the ridiculous hours, I'm loving it even more than I thought I would. Even though I've chosen a very scientific career, my true love has always been writing. I think the main thing that drew me into medicine was just the idea of sitting down and hearing people's stories (and hopefully being able to help them). I write whenever I get the chance, sometimes just for myself and sometimes for my blog. One of my goals for 2012 is to write something publishable. Another one is the give more hugs, haha.
I'm looking for someone who is kind, smart and funny. I tend to have a hard time getting along with people who don't have a sense of humor, so I guess that's the only real deal breaker. I want someone who doesn't speak in cliches, who really makes me think, who loves food as much as I do, who is passionate about what he does, and most importantly, who understands that relationships require effort and commitment. I want to be the woman who after decades of marriage still leaves 'I love you's scrawled on foggy bathroom mirrors. And I want a man who values that and sees that sometimes love is in the details.
Date a soulmate from La Jolla, United States. Hello!
