Meet a soulmate from Chico, United States. Friends have asked if I'd ever marry again, and I tell them, "I don't know, but I'm never going through another divorce." Given that, this whole process makes me a bit uncomfortable, but I like adventures, so that's how I'm treating this site.
Since divorcing, I've figured it's up to me to make a life I love, and if someone special comes along then it's icing on the cake. Are you up to being my icing? If you are ethical and honorable, fun, like road trips, and staying home, are comfortable with your own life, but would love to share it with someone who is curious, you might be curious about me, too. Most of my closest friends have been married for more than 30 years; two friends are divorced and really get why I don't want to go there again. I believe it takes time to really get to know someone, and I'm willing to put time into this adventure. Although I have been known to feel the need for speed, I am in no hurry to rush through learning who you are and what's important to you. If we are a good fit for each others' lives, we'll figure that out as we go. It might be one e-mail or 'phone call, it might be awhile. Sometimes it's obvious; sometimes it's a journey. If we enjoy each other, I'd like it to be for a long, long time. Wouldn't that be a kick?!
I'm not a fashion plate, or a trophy wife, but I've been told I'm not hard on the eyes, either. If looks are the most important, look elsewhere, because there's a lot more to me than someone to just turn your head. After recently moving, I made an appointment with a dermatologist. He had to check my age because he thought the paperwork was wrong. That's only because I've always believed in good skin lotions, but I liked him right away...I look 'normal' for my age, I think. I lived on the Mendocino Coast for 42 years and after retiring, I've moved to Chico to be near my daughter and her family. Grandchildren are hilarious!!
I don't do drugs, so if that's your interest, reach out to someone else; you wouldn't like me one bit. It's important to be comfortable around people and be able to trust each other, and we wouldn't match well.
I like my fellows like I like my dogs- friendly, loyal, playful, happy, not small or yappy, and not smelly. I do know that a dirty dog can clean up real well, so I know guys can, too. I like being at the beach,a river or a lake, out in the woods or stacking firewood, so I like being casual and comfortable much more than dressing up anymore, but I do like to wear silk.
I like to bake and try new recipes, and am more than willing to learn how to make things you enjoy. I like fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, and garlic over pasta, but my favorite meal is fresh crab, french bread, and champagne. You get to pick your own crab, but I'll do the dishes...
Music? Symphonies, songs that I know the words to (or at least can understand them), blues, some jazz, rock and roll, oldies, no loud screaming with my tunes, please.

Just generally, I lived in South America as a child, and moved to the Bay Area for college. After getting a Teaching Credential, I married and moved to Butte County. Raising two boys has been a total pleasure! I love my family and am proud of both sons who have grown up to be independent young men living away from home - one is married to a beautiful woman I consider to be my daughter. Working as a teacher has always been so satisfying to me.Children are so honest and open and I am fortunate to be their language arts teacher. I love to do most things -but travel is at the top of my list. I love any activity outdoors, especially hiking and camping. However I enjoy a romantic B&B anytime! Reading and just being at home in a cozy environment is also special. Of course, laughing makes me feel my happiest. Any opportunity to giggle and look on the silly side of life is wonderful and such a gift to me.The simplest things seem to give the most pleasure - like a long walk on the beach or a glass of wine on my deck! Listening to music from an ipod or in a San Francisco venue is always a good time!! I love a variety of music and enjoy sharing that experience. A favorite date can be simply reading to one another or a lively debate on any topic. I am a good listener and have plenty of thoughts of my own - but just want to be open to ideas. Travel, for me, has taken me to small villages in Thailand and into Costa Rican kitchens for a home cooked meal. By the way, I enjoy eating and cooking food from most parts of the world and can make a great Italian meatsauce! Meeting people from around the world and sharing their thoughts makes the travel experience special. I find my own way and have not relied on tours or cruises, but that could be fun, too!! I have some wonderful friends and always look forward to sitting at the kitchen table with a good cup of coffee or tea. With a man, I enjoy sharing quiet moments watching the sunset or listening to birds. I like to relax, let it roll - just enjoy the moment in front of us.
