Date people from Arizona, United States. Growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC and going to college in Virginia gave me a good dose of the east coast. There were plenty of amazing things out there: the art and culture of the city (the smithsonian museums are pretty radical), the trees (I miss the fall colors) and some amazingly beautiful mountains and rivers-but after finishing school I knew I had to head west to do some exploring.
The years that followed were spent galavanting through the western US with a few stints to places further away like New Zealand and Fiji. I spent time in Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, Colorado and California exploring the mountains in summer and winter and working in all sorts of crazy jobs just to keep the dream alive.
Now that I'm in medical school at the U of A, I feel pretty darn fortunate to be able to pursue a career that I'm passionate about. I'm interested in the roots of disease and firmly believe that many of the ailments considered incurable are in fact quite correctable with nutrition and lifestyle changes.
Spending too much time in class and the library makes me miss being outside. In my free time I try to head out to the mountains for some sort of adventure whenever possible.

I like to keep an open eye toward possibility when I am traveling and tend to seek out experiences that test my limits. And whether I'm signing up for the slightly deeper SCUBA exploration of the Great Barrier Reef or pretending I don't care about the tiny flies at Machu Picchu that are sucking all my blood, I keep things positive – especially when I'm working, where something as simple as a smile can mean a world of difference, to say the least... and when it comes to football and my favorite team, I'm an expert on avoiding "bad juju"... But at the end of the day, I do keep a realistic perspective on the world and make sure I don't miss out on enjoying every last drop.
Another thing I am passionate about is running, and I much prefer hitting the pavement outdoors than being locked up inside a gym. But I also spin... not on a bike but on my turntable. For me, blending two rhythms together into a seamless new beat is nothing short of beautiful.
