Thats where I probably picked up my work ethics. Hard work every day. I worked in the Denali national park for the YCC for a summer. I spent time in the military and traveled some. That is where I learned my current profession as a Telecommunications Engineer. I always worked in tactical units and spent all my time outdoors. I worked in Maastricht at Tapijn Kaserne for a while and had the opportunity to see the middle east and Africa.

I was born and raised on the South side of Chicago and gained a lifetimes street smarts at a very young age. I can spit a line of bull out on a dime and recognize one from a mile away. I have lived in Tucson since 1985 and have since shed most of my inner-city edge in favor of a more relaxed, mellow and loving vibe.
I've spent most of my life awash in my little boat, oars in hand, feverishly rowing against an impossible current into the direction I thought I wanted to go, usually ending up exhausted, puzzled and not far from where I began. Now, however, I've ditched the oars and raised my sails, contentedly allowing life's winds and currents to propel me into the direction they will have me go. In short, since relinquishing absolute control of my life's direction I have become more peaceful, accepting and adventurous, (yet curiously oftentimes still puzzled). As a man I have learned.
I support my family and friends at all times in any way that I can. I view my past partners as wonderful beings placed in my path for a reason..to learn from and therefore grow. As a man I love.
I have built several successful businesses from the ground up. I am a hard worker and a tenacious negotiator when I need to be but once the dust settles I'm not adverse to playing hookey for a couple of days and disappearing for a backpack into the Rincons or Grand Canyon.
I volunteer one weekend per month during the winter months on a crew that builds shelters for poor families in Agua Prieta, Sonora. I have seen first hand, over and over, how through helping to improve one familys' living situation, the lives of those around them; relatives, friends, and neighbors...damned near the entire universe can also be transformed in a positive way. Not to mention how my life also has been transformed. As a man I openly give of myself.
I aspire to live a simple, uncomplicated life. I do not believe it necessary to spend money that I do not have and therefore carry no credit card debt. I drive an 8 year old car that has given me years of reliable service and see no reason to trade it in. I am more turned on by the prospect of buying a sweet copper saucepan or a new tennis racquet than a flashy new Lexus or the latest Palm Pilot thingy. I've given away most everything I've owned of any value except for a few cherished personal artifacts, the modest furnishings that fill my house, a few old cars and my beloved books. A very wise man once said, "You never truly own anything until you have given it away."
I have no exclusionary laundry list of qualities and attributes that I am looking for in a woman, however, I will say that what exists within your heart and between your ears will impress me far more than what you watch on TV, what your taste in music is, the number of countries you have visited, whether you go from jeans to a cocktail dress in 5 minutes, if you enjoy long bubble baths, walks on the beach and the smell of the desert after a rain, or if you look 10 years younger than your age; all of which the majority of women on this site believe are important to a man, and may be to most, but are not to me (except perhaps the bubble baths).
