. I have strong ideals and goals, and respect the opinions of others, however, I am a bit of an absent-minded professor. I truly love my calling, although I came into this role late in life after a career in research. I am told that I am an extremely difficult but dedicated teacher, and I am proud of that!
It would great to get to know a man who has varied interests and I hope that we might share some, or find new adventures together. Currently, my time is spent with my family, gardening, fixing up my house (or attempting to-sometimes the results are comic), the pool, the dogs, working out, yoga, and reading (Carl Hiassen, mysteries, historical fiction). I coach for the Science Olympiad and really enjoy watching those kids accomplish amazing things. Nothing is more beautiful than a walk through the woods, and I enjoy seeing the stars at night away from the city. I would love to learn how to sail, and to learn more about wine, Scotch and new ways to cook fish. And to practice massage techniques.
In the near future, I hope to move to the mountains, or at least a place with more acreage where the dogs can run and I can play the stereo loud and dance on the porch. That said, I am not a real country girl, and enjoy side cafes and small bars in the city, and the the opportunity to see live music or plays. Still have a youthful attitude towards love and intimacy, and hope to find someone comfortable with their maturity and still romantic. Very romantic. More than anything, please be a person who can laugh-at life, at themselves, or even at me at times. Life is too short to be dismal all the time, and laugh lines add character, don't you think? Be willing to address issues-even if they are uncomfortable-troubles only fester, and hopefully we can work them out together. If we don't, well, I am good friends even with my former spouse.
I do like to to spend time talking, and hope that I will never stop wanting to learn new things! But after a long day, sometimes it is just good to sit together and sip a glass of wine and let the day fade away. To listen to our breathing and watch the sun the slowly set. They say that companionship actually promotes longevity-relaxing together and working with another on shared goals is the reason why, I think...
I like pampering the man in my life (don't get tooo used to it, though). It is fun to cook a dinner, build a roaring fire and enjoy a new wine. To give a massage after a long day or a hard workout. Or even read aloud while you relax (it is rather fun to do that in the car traveling, too). It is important for me that you know through my actions how much I value you as a friend and a lover, and I know that if you are the man I am looking for, you will feel the same.
