Raised in the amazingly wholesome Midwest (parents still together today and still ornery as ever), I admit to being a snow-belt rebel. Partying in the Flats, sneaking out to concerts at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, drinking underage at Case Western Reserve, and even meeting boys in the spring at SquireРІР‚в„ўs Castle made for magical teenage memories. Who wouldnРІР‚в„ўt love having midwestern roots? With just a little bit of motivation and a spark of creativity there are endless ways to have fun on a snowy day, and the summer - well the lake provided a way to up the Vitamin D intake while engaging in a few over the top Kodak moments. My childhood and upbringing are non negotiable as I would not trade a thing.
After trading in 300 days of cloudy skies for the sunshine of Southern California I was relieved to find my sense of adventure remained intact, with the added bene of visiting the snow on my time, my dime, and choice of trail to carve a wicked “S” down. Admittedly my lifestyle is athletic, as I love the competition, the release of those crazy endorphins, and even the way my clothes fit. Murph, my Lab demands that I run almost every day, otherwise he WILL rebel and chew the furniture unless he has a daily chance to outpace me. So, we run – FAST. The faded road rash scars on my legs taught me the exhilaration of mountain biking, but my girlfriends taught me that road riding makes for more common sense and opens up a whole lot more choices in the clothing department. I like choices; what can I say?
Watching the sunset in El Moro is a favorite hike, the trek to Holy Jim Falls just has to happen at least once/year, and on an odd weekend you might find me raising the flag up at San Jacinto. Sipping cabernet (secretly out of a red plastic cup, of course) while walking the coastline of CDM puts summer at the top of my list for favorite seasons. The OC and its irreverent nightlife cause me to laugh; hanging with good friends, dinner parties and listening to great music cause me to smile; and shopping with my daughters who have learned from the "master" cause me to get up and go to work everyday!
I have a set of friends who have "moved the earth" for me and for whom I would do the same. Connecting deeply means sharing openly; intimacy, touch and "acts of kindness" are my primary love languages. It truly moves me when others are self-aware and share their inner moments! Lived on the East Coast and West, traveled to Europe, spent time in Italy. Was a practicing Architect for 21 years (which slipped away with the housing market), now am a self-employed business owner. I have three grown children, and share a house with my daughter who attends college.
