Date men and women from California, United States. Where is that special person who is looking for a special lady that they can spend the rest of their life. I am not the person who will be over assertive or chase after someone. I am the person on the other side of the room who will give you a shy smile. If you respond in a positive way we will proceed from there. Don't get me wrong I can talk to almost anyone, but I want pursue someone who does not show an interest in me. I can be warm and affectionate with someone I care about, but I am not someone who is all over every man. I grew up in and raised my children in a protestant Church. I don't currently attend any church regularly, but still hold my believes.

I love sunsets, writing, art, classical music and occasionally oldies from the 60's), foreign and independent movies, and exploring other cultures. I have live in Tokyo and Singapore for a total of 9 years as well as traveled in other parts of Asia, Europe and South American.. I believe that this gives me a broader perspective on life.
I moved to California in the autumn of 2000 from Fairfield County Connecticut. (I survived being a single (divorced) Mother there). I have been in the Santa Barbara area since 2006.
I have 2 adult children so it has been while since I have been in the super mom role. My son has 2 degrees from UCSB and now is working in Boston. My daughter who graduated from an Ivy League University is working in NYC. I will be a grandmother by autumn.

I have enjoyed the cool spray of the ocean in CA, the dry picturesque landscape of NM and the rugged beauty of the Hill Country with it's rolling hills and rivers in TX. There is still a lot of travel in me that I want to accomplish. I am a confident, self-reliant woman so I hope to travel to CA from TX to be there for at least six months beginning in Aug.2012. Living in Santa Barbara keeps me excited about living life to the fullest - from the museums and art galleries to performing arts and live music concerts. I am sincere, warm and affectionate, appreciate the age I am and my glass is always ( 99% of the time) half-full. I love sunsets (sunrises not so much or so often!). Time with close family, grandchildren and friends is important to me - they have been a gift through the tough times. I like being social but also appreciate my personal time. My Bucket List includes more travel now - a Mediterranean cruise is on the horizon and Sedona soon. It's fun to just to explore local haunts or other U.S. destinations. I love good fresh food and wine, whether dining out or in. I am retired from my interior design business but still consult and enjoy an interesting home project challenge. I was fortunate to choose such a satisfying and creative career. I am eclectic in many of my life choices - design, activities and music.
I am happy and appreciate the NOW. I have learned that life is precious and not to sweat the "small stuff". The type of man I am attracted to is active and curious about life, people and new ideas. I try to budget my time constraints in advance, am productive, have lots of energy (usually more than the guy), and would love to love the right man. On the other hand, I don't like guys who waste my time, have egos, small or large, so best to put those egos to rest.
I like detail, cleanliness, neatness, and things, beautiful, whether in nature, art, ideas, creativity, etc. Add contemplation, reverie, reflection, and direction among other attributes.
I would like him to be physically attractive - no extra pounds - who takes care of himself on a day-to-day basis by exercising at a gym, walking or running, swimming, biking. Whatever. That he is intelligent, with a quick wit, likes to entertain from time to time, see a "good" film, attend a symphony concert (or other types of classical music), and do some traveling. I would hope that he takes pride in his home or wherever he may live and is "productive" in some humane way. If you/he has a graduate degrees, that's a plus.
Moreover, if you take medication, it has to be minimal, such as one or two prescriptions/day, not counting Viagra!
Lastly, I have a deep need to be IT at some point in your life -- no other women allowed, please, particularly at our ages!
