I am constantly working on myself, trying to build on my understanding of self. I want to be with someone who is also fearless in self-exploration. Life is change and it can be difficult. I enjoy people who always try to see the positive in everything. Someone who views the challenges as opportunities for growth and is able to support me in my own growth, as I support her. People aren't static...and if you don't have a lot of flexibility a dynamic relationship just won't work.
That's not to say that I don't have strong core fundamental beliefs (but I am open to examining and re-examining them). I would describe myself as conservative when it comes to relationships and family. Extremely supportive, fiercely loyal, and very forgiving (probably to a fault). I enjoy making others feel good about themselves...I enjoy feeling good about myself :)
I have goals, aspirations, and dreams, but I am open to something better than I could have forseen and planned for. I'm open to my life changing on a dime, because change is going to happen...it's inevitable. But the trick (and I'm still working on it) is to embrace the change rather than resist it.
So I'm looking for someone who doesn't have her entire life already etched in stone. Someone who is motivated, energetic, intelligent, funny, easy going, AND has goals, aspirations and dreams. But who is open to anything happening and someone who welcomes deviations from plans because that's what makes life exciting...the unexpected.
I tend to joke around a lot. I also tease (but in a loving way). Part of growing up in a big family is playfully tormenting your siblings :) Only partly kidding. Other than that, I'm a mixed bag. My likes and interests are wide and inclusive...like the late Ted Kennedy. Somedays I love humanity, other days I am not a fan. I am a clean freak but not a buttwipe about it with others. I love sports and could do without jocks. I love films, books, art of all kinds, and science; and I have little patience for wannabe pseudo-artist-types or self-enclosed dorked-out eggheads with hardly a pinky toe on the social terra firma.
I may have multiple personalities like U.S. of Tara. My Gimmy persona is mostly talk though...my dominant wouldn't let me pee in my house because I don't like messes (see paragraph above).
In all seriousness, I am pretty confident I am one of the more well-adjusted, level-headed chaps around. And yet, I am apparently also someone who will punctuate his sentences with turn-of-the-century British colloquialisms like "chaps," which could be a cover to make me SEEM civilized and proper. You'll have to sort all that out.
You (i.e. my match) will be not a crazed drama queen hiding in a first-date costume of laid-back chicness secretly hellbent on destroying male-kind. Back in the area after quite a few years abroad in London and just re-discovering all the wonderful things to do here..Have a love for a wide range of things from art & culture to sports & the outdoors and being active. I like anything that is beach oriented as I do like to surf whenever I can.. I'm over thirty so in my opinion I need to stick with things that are safe so you wont see my sky diving, riding a crotch rocket, cruising down the highway on my Harley, rock climbing, or going on a survival trek... I am a CIvil Engineer and a Real Estate Broker - most of what I do revolves around building and developing real estate, keeps me busy and the work just keeps coming. I have started two companies in my life one that was bought out by Apple Computer, back in 2004 and I started a Car Dealership that I still have a small interest in.

So I returned to the USA from rural subsaharan Africa and then the Middle East to write a book, plant roots, and resettle over a year ago. Someone I can buy flowers to in my way home from work just for the hell of it. Someone not afraid to get dirt under her fingernails, or give a sick orphaned child a hug (no matter how sick). Someone who will surprise me with kinky underwear when I need a good surprising. Someone who prefers meals at a pub or a dive ethnic restaurant (with the menu in Spanish, and the dudes in the kitchen are singing ranchero music) instead of a trendy place. Someone who will give me a big hug and whisper "everything will be alright," when the world around me seems to be crumbling. In short, I am looking for a companion who we can share adventures, ideas, poetry, a mud hut in Africa, snuggles, stories, and a parallel path with.
