Date someone special from California, United States. OK, I am a twice divorced father of five who no longer live with me. All of them are good, bright, talented and interesting individuals that are still very much a part of my life. I like gardening, music (all but CW,folk), cooking (ribs, salmon, any kinda omelette, sweet potato pie), good health and good people of any ethnicity or status in life. I recently moved from the Monterey area to Watsonville. I smile at innocent children, friendly animals and spontaneous acts of warmth expressed by strangers. I have traveled a bit because you see I'm a grown up Army brat, who has been all over the US and the world at the discretion of the military.
I am still working 50 hours a week presently and lately have not been taking enough time to really smell those roses. I realize that I gotta do more of this. I spend most of my time in the Monterey Bay Area, anywhere from Santa Cruz, to Watsonville but I am familiar with every little hamlet around the entire Monterey Bay. I have an appreciation for many parts of Oakland: Lake Merritt and Lake Temescal in particular and I enjoy leisurely walks around the Rose Garden and Piedmont.
Traveling to near and distant places is nice but ultimately we return to our home. It is for this reason I am more interested in focusing on and creating another home, maybe on a neutral turf from where me and my mate currently reside, that truly can be our little oasis. Not opulent, mind you, but with the little subleties of life that really connect with our fiber. Part of that for me would have to include a garden with a compost bin, a wood workshop and a great sound system. I'm a simple guy. What would be necessary for you?
I am looking for a good African American woman who has a well-developed sense of humor and is good looking, bright, passionate as well as compassionate, comfortable around strangers, honest, loving and spontaneous like me. She must like music, period! Age isn't real important but the 55-68 year-old range would most likely be ideal, but really one never knows. There are times when good chemistry knows no boundaries. Shared interests are nice but not absolutely necessary. There's always value in learning about or becoming involved in something new and interesting. I think another desired trait of my ideal match would be to possess the capacity for forgiveness. None of us are perfect and I learned a long time ago that "to err is human, to forgive, devine". If you are one who is impressed by the large new car and a flock of material things, maybe I'm not the one for you and you should stop right here. However, if you are one who appreciates the architecture that abounds in a neighborhood or can just enjoy listening to good music (without simply being a cheapskate) at home from time to time while cuddling in front of a roaring fireplace on a cold evening, I'm the one.
I am passionate about moving to a more affordable community where I can have an active, producing garden and a dog. I am equally comfortable and happy with soil underneath my fingernails while doing yard work as I am attending a concert at Kuumbwa, Yoshi's or at a formal affair wearing a tux.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and give it some degree of consideration. Is anyone who resembles this listening?
Meet a soulmate from California, United States. I'm looking for a no-drama, easy-going kind of gal. Someone who's comfortable getting dressed up to go to the symphony or dinner / dancing but who's also comfortable in jeans. I'd like someone who shares or respects my political values and philosophy which are based upon traditional financial and personal responsibility and limited government.
I very much enjoy the outdoors. Mountains, trees, streams, and lakes stir my soul. I hike, ski, bike and just generally love to be outdoors. I have been very active and adventurous through my life and while not quite as driven these days, I still enjoy adventures of various sorts. Traveling near and far is great fun. I recently got scuba certified and have gone on several warm water dive trips... Fiji, Cozumel, Bonaire to name several.
I have traveled a great deal through my life and enjoy 1-2 trips a year to new destinations. I'm pretty much open to going where ever although NZ South Island, Alaska, and more warm water diving destinations (eg, Australia, Indonesia, Carribean) appeal to me. I'd love to see Portugal and Spain, Italy, Greece, maybe Romania, Hungary... where would you like to go? I generally travel for the scenery and natural beauty but remember the trip by the people I've met and enjoyed.
I stay active around my property doing projects from time to time. I've installed a solar hot water system, done the solar panel installation for my solar PV system. I have a wood shop and I like to build fine furniture. Craftsmanship is what's important to me. I like doing an excellent job at whatever... I've built 18-20 pieces of furniture at this point of which perhaps 10-12 are in my house. I've built chairs, tables, lamps, and bookcases. I've given to friends and relatives tables, bookcase, and a chest of drawers.
I love flowers and have a lot of flower beds on my property. I have a fruit tree orchard with maybe 35 trees of varying sorts. I have blackberries, raspberries, and a veggie garden area with potatoes currently planted.

Meet someone special from California, United States. I live in the hills over looking the Monterey Bay. I am easy to be with, optimistic, contemplative, passionate, sensitive and I love to laugh. Being in a relationship is one of my favorite ways to share. It brings out my creativity, generosity and allows me to express myself in my favorite ways. I have been self employed, enjoyed my work and am now mostly retired. I like to ride my mountain bike and take my camera. From this vantage point I look for tracks and sightings of animals and birds. A safari in Africa and a jungle trip to photograph the big cats sounds interesting. Beach walks, hiking in the local mountains, camping in the desert, house and yard projects are activities that get my attention. I'm drawn to the idea of living lightly on the earth and am putting in a vegetable garden.
