I've tried this after being married for 30 years and not 'dating' during that time. I really find this on-line 'dating' thing a really difficult way to meet people. Somehow, for me, it leaves out most of the chemicals that make up the chemistry we are looking for. Alas, my subscription has passed and I think I am taking a break to try the traditional route. You can find me out at the Bahia Wetlands helping to restore native species or working on the Water District Trails. Be open when I ask about those unripe Avocados, or go ahead, tell me the Shirt I am looking at is horrible. Ask me to join in with your hiking group or stop and talk on the trail.

About me… I am a well-mannered, nice-guy type. When I was married I used to get the '…all the good ones are taken…' line at parties. I am athletic and toned; not ripped. Yeah, I have a little insulation around my six-pack. I don’t have much hair, but have been told I have a nice head. My eyes might be failing, but I can still see how beautiful you are. I have older kids and do not want to start over. My kids are 19 yo twins and a 16 yo, all boys. I am good with kids and they seem to really like me; I have been a well-respected Soccer coach for many years. If you have older kids, that seems like a bonus. I would certainly be interested in an extended family situation…
About you… You are smart and know a good thing when you see it. My friends would describe me as a heavy thinker on complex topics but light in spirit that loves to laugh and play and not take myself too seriously.
Things that strike me as absurd or off the wall strike me as funny and make me smile or LOL.
I am a scientist and am driven by research and the need to Know. I have a need to see and understand what others haven't seen yet. My current focus is the molecular biology of cellular communication and how it is related to health, life, disease and aging.
I am also interested in philosophy and metaphysics and particularly Hellenistic religions, 500 BCE to 500 CE.
I am proud of starting my own R&D company, against all odds in an industry dominated by the chemical & pharma giants. I have found a way to carve a niche.
I am proud of having just been invited to speak in Italy at a conference of world class scientists and for digging out some buried research from 57 yrs ago that was poorly documented. This has been a 10 year project and big progress was just made in Napoli and Rome.
I'm grateful for another breath, another day, my health, my dogs, red wine, living in Marin and my work.
I am interested in meeting a woman who is also driven by a cause or a passion and not jealous of my focus on work. I want to leave something behind when I check out that future researchers can build on. I really believe that we give our own life meaning and should try to make some contribution to the collective that outlives us.
