I was born in San Diego and have lived here for most of my life. Maybe that helps explain my easygoing nature or maybe it's just good genes. My parents still live in Rancho Bernardo, I am the middle of three kids (four if you count my mom's dog, Mack) and I have more aunts, uncles, and cousins than I can count sometimes.
I recently bought a place in North Park and it has been working out for me very well so far. I love good food and local craft beer and there is no shortage of those around here. One of my favorite hobbies is exploring the city and finding its hidden gems, and it also makes a great date idea. I like to mix things up too. I'm a former skydiver, so if you are the adventurous type that could be a good time. I am also a big baseball fan. I still play in an adult league on the weekends and I like to get to games at Petco too. I'm a Padres fan, but I won't blame you if you aren't. It's a tough life. Oh, and one more cliche: I am always up for a long walk on the beach.

About me? I'm a meteorologist who works as an environmental scientist for the defense department but still loves predicting the weather and tracking down the occasional thunderstorm. It's my dream to some day go tornado chasing in the Midwest. I love traveling the world, especially Europe, and am always thinking of or planning my next trip there. For my next trip I really want to immerse myself in a foreign culture without the aid of a tour group or anything. Stuff like that really keeps you on your toes and the independence is so exhilarating.
So what do I do for fun? I'm a huge fan of concerts and especially have a thing for country concerts. I'm a California guy but feel like I could adapt without a problem if I had to move to Texas tomorrow. When I go out, I hang out with friends in Little Italy or the Gaslamp and try the unique restaurants they have there and enjoy meeting cool people while I'm out. And when I want to get the heart pumping, hiking, running, skiing, and playing tennis are my activities of choice. Once the water warms up, I'm going to pick up surfing again.
My near term goal for the future is to create an awesome iPhone app that people will waste countless hours on and have fun with. I'd like to run a marathon and do one of those tough mudder races. I tend to be very spontaneous and that helped. I'm a motivated and goal oriented guy but I'm a firm believer in the "work-hard, play hard" mentality. That doesn't mean I'm going out and getting hammered at a bar or club any chance I get, it means I like to take full advantage of my free time by experiencing as many new things, ideas and places I can. I'm a pretty laid back guy but I also have a very competitive streak in me, so I'm looking for someone that can keep it relaxed but doesn't mind getting rolling up her sleeves and mixing it up with me. I try and focus on maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle but every now and then I like to try my hand at competitive eating or some other random activity that may not be the most health conscience option. I do have tattoos but they don't stop me from opening doors or standing up when a woman leaves the table. I was previously a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and I separated not too long ago to pursue some other goals. I have big plans for myself and my life, and I operate under the idea of if your dreams don't scare you then they're not big enough. I think I have a great sense of humor, even if it's pretty dry and sarcastic, and I've been told that I should do stand-up comedy by many of my friends. Music, in my opinion, is the best thing that this world has to offer and if you meet me then I'm sure that will become very apparent, especially if there is a live concert or show anywhere close.
