Date someone special from United States. Thanks for checking in. Here's the Story of Me. I'm a world wanderer and an Army brat who's always up for hitting the road to experience something new. I moved to LA 5 years and after a great deal of perserverence my dreams are all coming true. First movie, book, and graphic novel are all coming out next year -- and I'm looking for someone with whom to share the good times ahead. I love The Wire, Jane Austen, hitting the beach or catching a late show at the Arclight. My interests range everywhere from cooking to politics to snowboarding to scuba diving so you better have plenty of passions and goals of your own. I live to write and am always looking for new outlets to express my creativity. I'm extremely ambitious and driven but know how to unwind when the time comes.
As for you, I'm looking for someone who is smart, fun, motivated, genuine, passionate, curious, and adventurous like me. Hope that's you.
Meet single man from United States. A laid back Chicano just looking for a beautiful female to chill with and have some good times and laugh. Drama free and I'm a simple man. I enjoy doing it all from beaches to thrill rides. Enjoy getting my boogie on!
Date a soulmate from United States. I'm from Toronto living in Los Angeles now for nearly 2 years, and still having occasional "Canadian moments", where I suddenly realize that whatever I'm talking about never existed in the US and is currently confusing whomever I'm speaking to. On the flip side, I lived for a year in Mexico City after being struck by a car, and have the distinct advantage of speaking fluent Spanish and can fit in with (and often confuse) the strong Mexican presence here. I also formed a band there, which has carried over and re-formed here in LA.
I'm very outgoing, and thrive in most social situations, although football still confuses the heck out of me, which can be problematic because it seems to be nearly a religion here. Back home hockey pretty much rules the sporting world, and any sport where the players can't start randomly fighting each other seems strangely lacking.
On a random note, I'm starting to find women who wear those big thick rimmed black glasses that are currently in style irresistible.
Professionally, I am a nerd; I am a software engineer, and have worked in a variety of fields including financial accounting, insurance compliance, and internet security. But I came to LA for other reasons.
Two years ago I was hired to ghostwrite books for folks in LA. The first book involved several visits to AA meetings in Hollywood which was extremely eye-opening -- lots of very famous people here are really f'd up! I then worked on a book about animal rescue which was extremely tragic and involved a lot of animal cruelty, but had the somewhat positive outcome in that the media attention led to actual steps being taken to care for the animals. While writing that one, I was really a buzz kill at parties when people inevitably asked me what I did.
Since then, I've become involved in two passions of mine, comedy and music, and some overlap between the two. I've done a decent amount of standup in the past year, and run a popular comedy twitter feed -- no idea if that's a plus or a minus for my attractiveness :)
I also front a pop punk band in LA, however we're on hiatus due to our intrepid bassist managing to break his leg in a motorcycle accident. Ironically, I have the same bike, although I didn't bring it to LA and remain bikeless here. If you like Green Day/Offspring type music with a comical twist, you might like us. On stage I'm the lead singer, and uh, keytarist. Yes, you read that right.
I have what I've learned is an unusual combination of both artistic and logical abilities. I'm great at writing music, writing prose and essays, and comedy, while at the same time I love all things mathematical and computer. I have a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and yet am now in LA as one of the teeming millions working on other... stuff.
I speak fluent Spanish with an accent composed of various countries so that nobody seems to know where I'm from -- Mexicans think I'm Spanish, Spaniards think I'm Colombian, and Colombians think I'm Mexican. I also speak Portuguese and French, and have studied Italian & Russian. And I know how to say the most important phrase "I'm sorry, I didn't know that was your wife," in a few others.
I'm a tall, large guy. I often get asked if I play football (as previously mentioned, no I don't, it confuses me). Out of interest I took an acting class here that involved being filmed, and I was the only one in it who didn't consider themselves an aspiring thespian. When watching the tapes, I towered over the other guys, and got a laugh out of shouting "Look out! That bear's going to eat you!".
Oh, and t-shirts. I have a collection of funny t-shirts that people often want pictures of. Most recent one is "I HAVE BAD CREDIT".
Meet a man from United States. I think online dating is absolutely garbage. I meet women very easily in real life. A friend suggested this nonsense so I gave it a try. A waste of time and $ for me. Cancelled, cancelled, cancelled, cancelled, cancelled!
Date someone special from Los Angeles, United States. My sense of humor really shows itself in the way that I joke around and goof off with the people closest to me. It all just flows naturally when I’m with people I know can give it as good as they can take it. I feel very fortunate to have a job that I love and allows me to be creative and work with media and some of the sports I can’t do without. Not only that, but I do a lot of work with the music industry, which has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I really enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle that includes playing soccer, softball and tennis. Recently I’ve started cycling and make sure to hit the gym regularly, though not religiously. One of the things that I really appreciate in my life is that my friends and family give it to me straight; good or bad, they know I can handle the whole truth. When it comes to music, I’m pretty open to different sounds and experiencing new things, though hip hop and trance are my favorites. Comedies and intellectual dramas are my favorite types of movies and I can always re-watch them.
Confidence in a woman has always been one of the first qualities to catch my eye; there’s not much sexier than knowing who you are and not being afraid to show it. I’m ready to meet a woman with a great sense of humor and is fun to be around, no matter what’s going on in her life. Every now and then she likes to get out of her routine and go out to a club, though it’s not a regular thing with her. Staying in and watching a movie is just as entertaining. Like me, she’s looking to meet some great people, have some fun, and make some unforgettable memories while having an open mind for more, if the connection is there.
Meet single man from Los Angeles, United States. HUMILITY IS MY COMPANION IF YOU ASCRIBE TO HUMILITY THEN WE CAN WALK TOGETHER. LIFE IS PLACE OF LEARNING AND IF YOU TOO CAN BECOME A STUDENT OF LIFE THEN WHAT A PERFECT MATCH. I HATE PESSIMISM BECAUSE LIFE HAS OPPORTUNITIES BEHIND THOSE CLOSED DOORS. THEY ONLY NEED SOME PUSHING OR GENTLE TOUCHES AND PERSISTENCE
Date a soulmate from Los Angeles, United States. Just moved to the westside after many years in the valley. Enjoying life a lot more now that I gain hours back into my life not spent in traffic. I think I try to be down to earth, In my experience. two people need to really want to be part of the same picture. The person I'm looking for isnt just a wallflower. If things arent fresh and just get stale then its something that might not be working out. I love films, traveling and who doesnt like a smear of cream cheese and bagel at Jerrys Deli. A person should feel at the very best when they might be feeling their very worst and knowign that someone is their for them, with them and not about me, me , me.
My highlights:
1- I overslept the 4th grade halloween parade and had no time to put on my halloween costume and wore a tie with a white tshirt
2- My name became famous by coincidence in the mid 80's because of a famous song/music video.(and its not Michael Bolton, but you are close)
3- I've never ordered meatloaf at a restaurant but have had it home cooked
4- I love sour patch kids (I go to the gym 4 days a week and play sports the other days) but i love my sour candies
5- I can wiggle my ears to the tune of Funky Cold Medina,
6- I once talked a horse into losing a race. ( turned out he was just a slow horse)
7- I am bilingual if you consider gibberish to a dog....
9- I forgot how to count
10- I'm allergic to things I dont like.
Meet a man from Los Angeles, United States. I can be a bit of a geek and the occasional goof, but definitely living life; although at times I may find it tough to get out of bed, I'm much more of a "doer" (I prefer to play sports, instead of watching it). I also find it important to continually try new things and expand my horizons. I also love capturing life's moments. When I'm outside of LA, it's hard to find me without a camera (or two, or three) at all times.
I agree with most, that the whole online dating thing is a bit awkward and inorganic, but I'm at the point in my life where my circles of friends are pretty solid and meeting new, quality people has become more challenging.
To keep it simple, I'm looking for someone who individually has the desire to move themselves forward in life, but is also looking for someone to share the wonders that life has to offer (ideally smiling / giggling / laughing the whole way through it). Whether it be a simple smile from across the room or the magnificence of Iguazu falls by moonlight, the right company can make a world of difference.
Also, don't take it the wrong way, but if you don't have a picture, are not located in CA, and IM me, I'm going to ignore you (too many scams from what I've seen). Also, my membership is not currently active.
Date someone special from California, United States. Hi,
Here we are trying to get to know each other. Maybe an icebreaker or a joke would help. If we were meeting for the first time, I could say something cheesy like: Is your name Visa, because you’re everywhere I want to be. And you might laugh a little at how bad of a line that is and we might take it from there.
I'm a passionate person, especially about my relationships and Cricket (the sport, not the insect). I love talking about things that make you think. I can go on about quantum physics and pondering about multiple dimensions, parallel universes, or if time even exists. Or whether its talks about spirituality or philosophy and the meaning of our existence and our role in this life. Whatever Im doing, I like to do it well and feel that it should be fun. I love simple things in life like hanging out with friends or kicking it for a movie night at home with pizza and soda. I love going to the movies, live theater, comedy clubs.
I'm someone who is in transition. I feel life should be full of fun, excitement, and love. And though I have an amazing profession (I'm a family medicine doctor and I work in an urgent care at a hospital), I've realized its not necessarily my only calling in life. So I'm in the process of exploring what fulfills me, figuring out things about myself, my likes and dislikes, what is it that I want from this wonderful life. Its a bit of breaking down some old beliefs and rebuilding oneself, and its all for the best !! One thing that I do know that I want is Love. I would be happy to be in a relationship and would be open to commitment, given that I meet the right girl.
What am I looking for ? Im looking for someone whom I can click with, who's on the same wavelength. It would be so nice to be with a girl who likes to have fun, laugh and be silly. A beautiful person I can get to know, let things take their natural course and fall in love with. A girl who adores, loves, and spoils me like I love, adore, and spoil her. Someone who makes the world right when she smiles for me :)
Meet single man from California, United States. Hmmm.... what to write... OK, about me:
I'm 34 years old and moved to Los Angeles mid-2008. Before moving to LA, I lived in San Francisco for a year and a half, Charlotte for two years and New York City for three of the previous four years (I spent one year working in London). I went to college in Boston and I currently work in finance.
I'm honest, caring and supportive in all my relationships, whether it be my friends, family or significant other. I'm very close with my family, though they all live on the east coast. I have one older sister who I love more than anything, 4 year old twin nephews and the best parents in the world (all in northern NJ). I also have a dog, who really is man's (my) best friend... Maximus is about a year old, 15 lbs and full of love.
I work hard, but am very balanced and enjoy going to the movies, eating at new restaurants and spending time outside. I also love a night in, cooking dinner and sharing a few glasses of wine.
My ideal partner will be someone I can share everything with. Someone who is my best friend. Someone who always has my back, and knows I always have theirs. Trust, honesty and communication are paramount.
I'm attracted to women who are positive and kind; can hold her own in a room filled with strangers; is funny and loving. Is that you?
