Date someone special from La Mesa, United States. I'm looking for a forever-love so if you're not, read no further!
The CSNY song, "Our House" captures my ideal relationship. Do you remember it? I'll add my quiet little shih-tzu, DaVinci, to the "two cats in the yard" if you have them--or perhaps you have a canine pal, too. I'm longing for a simple life, a slower, deeper life with a human companion to love and cherish. Please don't be perfect--I'm not.
I'm an artist with an eclectic body of work, constantly exploring, experimenting, responding to life with drawings, paintings, collage, photography, mixed media. I'm inspired by nature and humanity and find beauty where others see blight. I have a Master's Degree in Expressive Arts--studied in Switzerland. Professionally, I've worked with people from all walks of life and am at ease everywhere, from board room to homeless shelter.
My roots are in the midwest--at least that's what folks who hail from Louisville, KY call it. I grew up in a provincial, middle class family with parents who were married for 53 years (Mom is living; Dad died 2 years ago) and one brother. I'm the "gypsy" of our clan. I lived in Chicago for 12 years before I traded in the hustle of the big city for what seemed at the time, a slow-paced life in the sun and balmy breezes of San Diego. I managed to re-create the hustle with the help of all the other immigrants in this burgeoning metropolis!
Still got some gypsy blood--I'm open to relocation, especially to a more rural environment. Might be near or far. I need light, nature, creative space and someone to remind me now and then to "rest your head for just 5 minutes, everything is done." I've managed to create the illusion of a more rural environment in what I fondly refer to as my "treehouse" in La Mesa.
Spiritually, I've traveled far and wide and found my home beneath my feet. My quest now is to fully appreciate this Earth home I inhabit.
When I'm not creating, I'm usually outdoors, walking DaVinci, riding my bike at Lake Murray, gardening on my deck. I've been known to join in a few drumming circles and find it hard to decide whether to grab my djembe or dance when I feel the beat. Speaking of which, I love to dance--most any kind. I'd much rather Jazzercise than go to the gym. Love listening to live music in small venues, live theater and eclectic, ethnic dining. I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, sailing, road trips, open studios and off-beat galleries, folk art/ art brut. Would love to learn to play guitar--or maybe sing along if you play.
Are you a life-long learner, liberal to middle-of-the road politically, creative/ musical/ like working with your hands? Do you regularly laugh at your self (and I don't mean your jokes)? Easygoing?
If so, I'd like to hear from you.
Meet a soulmate from La Mesa, United States. Looking for someone to spend time with. Someone who likes to do things. Anything, walking, talking, movies, spending time together. Going to events, concerts, outdoor fairs, whatever. The place or thing is not important, it's the company right? Easy-going, fun loving, energetic, but at the same time caring, peaceful, honest, and sincere. Ready for a long lasting relationship. Family oriented too. My kids are long gone from home, but I still enjoy their company from time to time.
I like to travel. I want to do much more. I would love to have someone to go with.
