Meet a soulmate from San Pedro, United States. “You kids get out of that trunk!” my mom would yell. 30 years or so later, long after my mom passed, and just before my father met up with her, he handed me what was in the trunk… a stack of very old, frail-looking letters. Wrapped up neatly with a red, satin ribbon, each worn out letter had a faded, purple 3 cent stamp on the corner. The letters, so delicate, were love letters written by my mom to my dad during the war. "My dear darling husband…” “My wonderful, handsome husband…” “My darling sweetheart…” and so each letter began; not just one, but ALL of them. Some Spanish was mixed in, too, “yo te quiero mucho,” some would say. Every single letter ended with a red lipstick kiss; some kisses were slightly smudged, and stained through the paper. One letter in particular knocked the breath right out of me. She wrote, “I don’t wear any lipstick during the day, so I can save them for my letters to you.” The next page was entirely covered in lipstick kisses, and nothing else.
Now that's the kind of love I want, and I can bet you do, too.

Although I've lived in San Pedro all my life, it's not like I've never driven passed PCH, so yes, I’ve traveled quite extensively. The wonderment of a beautiful sunset will always astonish me, and I actually walk along the beach 3 to 4 times a week – “the girls” and me, and believe me, it’s no stroll; it's a workout, but I wouldn’t mind a nice stoll sometime (hint). And to be around me, you’d never know that I’m a closet-curser. I danced flamenco most of my life, but recently hung up my castanets. Throw in reading, the love of writing, trying to stay fit; you know the story. I'm no different from all the other profiles you’ve been reading. I want the same thing, and want to give back even more. When I open my front door, and see you standing there, I want that "hubba-hubba" feeling along with a warm hug that feels like smooth brandy warming your insides on a freezing, cold day. Better yet, "adore" is a good word.
Now back to those love letters. If my mom were alive today, I’d ask her only one question about those beautiful letters she wrote. Something I’ve always wondered. “What the heck brand of lipstick did you use that lasted since WWII ?!”

I'm retired after 35 years in the automotive industry and I'm glad that I got to retire at such an early age. I have traveled through the United States, but find myself wanting to continue the travels and really go to the little out of the way places. I enjoy the outdoors and love being near the ocean. I enjoy living close enough to Catalina that even if I can't go to her, I can see her everyday. Nothing like having a little piece of paradise in your own backyard. I enjoy going to a baseball game, car races and being on the back of a motorcycle or going for a drive......spur of the moment is always an "OK" on my list.
I want someone that will laugh with me and also at me. I'm the forever comedian, but I'm sensitive too. I sometimes cry at the drop of a hat.....and then I'll make a joke about it.....and laugh.
We should be able to communicate openly and honestly. No B/S on my side. I will always listen to the other side of the conversation and would expect the same treatment. The golden rule always applies. Life should be easy.....it'll have it's down sides, but that happens to all of us.
