Date women from United States / California / La Honda, 54 year old

Date someone special from La Honda, United States. Please give me some time to gather my thoughts on who I am and who I see myself with. I have been out of the match pool for about 4 years now and just dipping the toes back in. Friendship is definitely the main goal for jumping back in here. I recently moved from Moss Beach/Montara to La Honda and am feeling a bit isolated and my children are all pushing me out the door to have some fun. :) It is strange that the table has turned and I am the one they are looking out for now...lol.
I think this will probably be a work in progress and I hope you feel intrigued enough to come back and read more. I am like a good book you cannot put down for long, my pages unfold to reveal more and more. Stare at the cover if you like but what is inside is much better. :)
I am that artist woman, I see art in everything. I don't have a choice in whether I want to be that way because that is who I am. I am that person who will be concentrating on your face when you are not looking because I am painting it in my mind or that person who sees the world in a different light than most do, or so I have been told. For me, it is normal but for others I am not normal in any sense of the word, lol. I am not really sure what IS normal, are you? My work allows me to create as well and perhaps that is the reason I am so happy there.
I am quiet in the beginning especially in person, you could say I am shy, I say I am just sizing up the situation but when I m comfortable the pages of the book open up. I love sarcastic humor and I am able to take it as much as give it out but never to the point to where it would hurt your feelings. I don't go there. :) Humor is number one in my book, life is just absurd and too funny to let those moments go by without a little silliness, right? :) I laugh at myself more often than I do others.
I don't really want to use cliche's here but I am down to earth, ( there I used one). My happiness is tied to nature. I live in a pocket of redwoods and I swear there is nothing like sitting out on my porch after a long hard day and soak up the beautiful view to change my mood. Sigh...:)
I cannot imagine life without music. My iPod has a little of everything in it from classical to hip hop. I am not a big fan of rap because I just think it is garbage. My kids would disagree but music is supposed to soothe not grate on your nerves. :)
The person I am looking to spend some time with has a great sense of humor, is kind and considerate of other people, is rugged but cares about himself. He has a good sense of who he is, is intelligent but not obnoxious about it, he loves dogs and other animals, he can enjoy time without a word spoken but is able to communicate his feelings when it is necessary to do so, he is independent and is able to spend time on his own as well as spend time with me. A huge plus is he knows how to cook lol, I know how and I am good at it but it isn't my favorite thing to do. He can allow himself to be silly and have a good time but not at other people's expense. He is honest but doesn't cut with words. He is happy and loves kids. Though all of my children are well into their 20s, I spend a lot of time with them. We have a great relationship but there is room for you, it is not a mutually exclusive club. :)
I am not looking for a younger guy and much prefer people in my own age range (50-60 or so) I prefer mileage and experience. Just my personal preference. If you are much younger than I thank you for the winks but do not expect to hear back from me. :)
Ok I think my tall order is in....if you are any of those things I would love to hear from you.
